Slate Roof?

Good question. I did a measure today on a 12,000 sqft home, with 4 car garage and 2 pool houses with slate...roughly 3 stories...any advice would def. be appreciated.

Did one large slate tile roof at a college. I called Chris from apple for help. He said use 12% and nothing else, because it may turn cloudy if I add anything to it. I used a lift and xjetted straight 12%, it was really black and cleaned up perfect. We did real big sections and double coated it where we needed to

huh...wow..ok... I thought for sure you would have to use pressure. Straight 12%??
Very cool!

Yoo Hoo......Where is Chris Tucker on this subject?? Is Jeff correct on the straight 12%?? How bout a rinse?

Jeff Downstreamed the 12 percent.
If using a chemical pump, 50 percent 12 percent chemical to water ratio should do nicely.
We suggest NOT adding TSP or anything to the chemical/water mix on Slate Roofs.
I have had TSP solutions actually cloud up a Slate Roof we once did.
It looked like crap until several rains.
Any roof will look better right away with a good rinse.
Again, suggest rinsing with only water.
Detergents/Surfactants can cloud Slate roofs, why take a chance ?

Chris Chris Chris, Downstreamed????? You should know I'm the XJET KING of ROOFS

   Whats downstream, is that where you catch fish? LOL

Chris that sounds great, thanks,
Jeff: downstream is where they "pee" in the river

We just did a 16thousand square foot slate tile roof.

Many slate roofs down here.

Do a test spot....any white cloud effect is gone in days even without a rain.

Slate is easy...they are usually up on top of very high end properties, do your ground work as normal. The slate I mentioned up above had THOUSANDS of dollars worth of plants underneath.

Yes use soap. The slight cloudiness that "might" happen isnt worth the hassle of not using a surfactant. Slate roofs clean up easy, and very very nicely. Just use a nice strong mix.

Thanks man.Nice website too.So you want to share the additive with a guy that's a thousand miles away?I promise I won't try to come to Tampa.

Sub Bro...

Use TSP/chloro, and test out you ratio's on a slate before you make your entire mix. They are not like brick, you will not hurt them unless you stomp all over them and crack/break them.

There are no huge industry secrets cajun...Roof Cleaning is stupid easy work.

This is SIMPLE stuff, the secret to the crumb of success we have had as a small biz is due to conducting wise biz.

Think I'm wrong?

Who do ya think I battle for jobs on a daily basis and I ain't goin hungry!
In fact my company has grown every single day since day 1
