Strip decks? Must Read!!

I also heard alot of good things about Bob Williamson from Pressure Tek thru other contractors.

I will say this..all of the distributers that sell a stripper they all claim that there's is the best. Some of these Distributers are friends of mine. I believe that most of them feel this way which is the reason why they sell what they sell in the first place.

When it comes to this I still need to put them to a test to see which one really works the best for me.

Also like alot of others here I've been going to these bb's for long time. I see as others do plugs being put in for products all around which is the reason why I was skeptical here.

No harm done.....Now I know of a new stripper f-18 which I never heard of. You got to love these bb's;)

Timberstrip Pro

Just to clear up things you listed HD-80/ Roof Magic. The Roof Magic is not connected with HD-80. Just how were you able to test Roof Magic? My records show you have never bought any from us.

That is correct Steve, I traded for a few gallons from a fellow PW in my area. The reason I put HD-80 and Rooof Magic next to eachother is in my oppinion they both desereved 2nd place. HD for its strength at suggested 8 oz. per gallon and yours for the ability to mix stronger than the HD.

If you look at the small print on this threads header, it states "let us know how they work" I think the original post was doing just that, and gave a comparison. No foul was intended.

Good question Steve

Tim, I don't get your post??

You know, this board is here to help the industry not to cater to it. CCHS has done nothing wrong but try to help others understand that (YES) in his/her view there are better products out there. If I were CCHS, I would not try to help any longer due to the grief he has received over this post.

The reasons he is receiving grief is because you have too many out there wanting to make a name for themselves in others eyes. I call this kissin a**. Then you have the others that are the distributor that do not like seeing their products mentioned in a bad way regardless of the facts.

Again, CCHS is just trying to help and even mentions not stepping on shoes along the way. Well he did and if you are offended then you could care less about this industry and only have yourself in mind.

CCHS, even though I do not use any of the products mentioned, I thank you for your honesty. I also ask that you continue to post and be honest in everything you do.

I agree...CCHS 's intent seems to be nothing but honorable..what could he possibly gain personally? If and when you find something that works for you, wanting to share it with your "brothers in arms " is a good thing!

Robert

I meant no harm to you. I thought it was good for Steve to point out that his product is not connected to HD80. I know how Steve feels and the pride that he takes in his products. I consider Steve a friend and a very nice guy, but I'm not trying to kiss his butt - I don't buy chemicals from Steve. I've bought some in the past and like the guy a lot - very friendly and help me a lot, when I first came into this industry. I use HD80, but I do know that Roof Magic has a stronger kick. I use HD80, because it works good for me.

As of the initial post - I could care less who advertises or who is just trying to help the industry (I think your trying to help your fellow contractors) - means nothing to me. Thats what makes this board different. This board is not product driven and you can for the most part, state your opinion.

Sorry, if I came across in any other way.

No harm no foul.

So Reed have you used your sample yet?

Bob is sending us a sample to try also. I'm interested in seeing the results.

Beth

So does anyone who received a sample want to let us know what they think??

I tried my sample today. I used it on some nasty, clear acrylic looking stuff. It was under a covered porch, and a mat had been in front of the door since this sealer was put on. The area under the mat looked brand new.

I mixed about 8 oz. to a gallon of warm water. I believe this is the weakest reccommended mixture. I applied it with a surflo and let it dwell about 10 mins. and gave it a scratch test. It cut through this stuff pretty well. I rinsed with a 4010 tip and I had to use a little more pressure than I would have liked in some areas. I'm sure a little more dwell or a stronger mix would have solved that. It was getting dark when I finished, so I will have to go back and check on final results. The 8 oz. mixed very easily in the warm water, so I am sure mixing 16 oz. would be no problem. All in all, this seems like a very good product.

Hey CCHS/Rob...first, let me say "Thanks" for the post showing your test results. Second, which stripper were you able to mix 31 oz. to a gallon? I have a deck with 2 or 3 coats of paint on it that I need to strip, I would like to be able to mix a VERY strong solution for this job. See attached pic for details.

By the way, I have only used HD-80 and Timberstrip Pro. I found them to be very comparable, yet the TimberStrip was a little cheaper when I bought it, so I went with that product. As you mentioned, both are very good strippers, but not as good as Jenna Jameson!

By the way, this deck is on the house that I just bought and move into in a couple of weeks. It will be the PERFECT opportunity for me to get some samples and do a controlled test. I will do this and take pictures to post my results. Stay tuned...

Haven't used my sample yet. The test deck is coming soon.

Bryan,

The F-18 can be mixed 32oz to a gallon if need. If you try this be very carefull. I haven't tried it on paint so let us know how it does.
