The Right Equipment

Ok this is sad. I left my house this morning and went out to clean concrete. I saw a guy at a store on the way to my cleaning. He was fixing to clean a chik fil a sidewalk and drive thru.. Well I went and washed 2 stores sidewalks in about 3 hours. On the way back the guy was still at chik fil a .. I was using a whitco 3000 psi @ 4 gpm and a 30 inch surface cleaner, a turbo nozzle, and a 16" Whirl-A-Way .. I made $ 350.00 in 3 hours..

As for the Guy with the small sears cold water machine he was still cleaning that one little chik fil a store.. I saw him fighting off the traffic at the drive - thru still trying to clean the grease with a little cold water machine.. I felt bad but I pulled up anyway and asked him how much he charges to clean concrete and to my suprise he said for me to go f myself.
Then he flipped me off. Oh well One day he will learn..

I think tommorrow I will go by chick fil a and offer them a free concrete cleaning , probably won't take but about 20 or 30 minutes..

I hope this guy wasn't charging like $ 25.00 or something, but if chik fil a lets me do a free ( SHOWOFF) cleaning for them at least I'll get some good advertising because it's right on one of jacksons main strips.... County Line Road.

AMEN

Give the man some credit

We all can't start off with some $10,000 hot water set up.

And I'd be a little upset to if someone (Especially with far superior equipment) came up to me and asked me about that.

Let the man have his account. He's got to start from somewhere.

Before I Started all of this steam cleaning and fire Equipment I Lived in a 1 bedroom Shack. I ate Peanut Butter and Crackers for Breakfast Lunch and Supper .. I worked at a hardware store making about $6.00 an hour.. I saved and saved.. When I started working for a fire equipment company and Steam Cleaning Service in the later 80's I watched Learned and Saved Saved Saved.. I Knew one day I would open my own business. I started out on my own with what I could afford.
I was always taught if you are going to do something , be prepared and have the right equipment. My Dad always said not having the right equipment is like nailing a nail with a screwdriver.. It might work but it will take along time. So the best thing to do is work your ass off and buy a hammer.

Many guys in Mississippi have way better equipment than mine , but I still have the equipment for the job.. The Guy was washing the drive thru for 5 hours , do you really think the owner is going to give him the job again ? What with getting dirt on all the cars in the drive thru..

I merely taught this guy a small lesson in life ...If you are going to do the job , have the right equipment and choose your time wisely.
Maybe I sound like an asshole but who would you hire to clean your concrete....? Or you vent hood..

If someone went to walmart and bought a 2500 psi cold water machine with every bit of 25 foot of hose and a 50 foot garden hose and said I want to clean your concrete .... But it's going to take me 8 hours and i am going to charge you xxxx amount of dollars, I may get some cars dirty and disrupt your lunch drive thru traffic but I will get it clean.......And the a guy with the right equipment comes along and says I will clean your concrete in 2 hours and be gone before you open for lunch .....See where I am Going...
So the answer is Study what you are going to do , Work your ass off at some stupid job and then buy the right equipment....
