I started using these guys I like the concept

basically its a company that you send addresses to that makes the post card.... put the postage on it and sends it...about 50 cents (or less)

the best part you can send as little as 5-10 cards out 2 dollars etc

means you dont have to wait to do large mailings (you could drive by a house or commerical property send info in and 3=5 days later they have color post card

Thanks for the tip. I think I will give it a try after collecting some more addressees.

David look into getting your own bulk mail permit. I got one this year... .It was like 360....180 per year after that....I can mail postcards at like .25 each plus the price of the card. I believe I have to mail 200 at a time...so for 50 dollars plus the card it really saves money.....
IF you mail to a route its like .14 per piece....I mailed out 24000 post cards this spring.....

thanks Lou you are right..for me getting the follow thru to do 2000 mailers at one time I just never get around to it I turn it into a big production and lose interest.

I think what makes this unique you could in theory make up 10 different cards (or more/less )for specific market or customer instead of having one card 2000 of the same)

a example would be your driving down the street and you see a fence that needs staining bam you send a staining postcard...maybe later you see a commercial property you want to clean or let them know about your service etc bam a different card....I like the concept of all these different cards I've made and I can target it with the right card

another example is some on this board are doing filter/airconditioning maintenance and pressure washing and other things as well they could different cards showing the were specialists and what the do instead of jack of trades on one card just an idea

I agree about having different cards.....In my case it still is a cost issue. 10 different cards cost alot but are in the plans for next year. The 24000 I sent was sent at one time....never again. If done again I will send 3-5 different cards to the same customers.... My results were very bad!!!!!!!

Great info guys, Thanks.

I have to agree with you. I was real surprised with the poor showing after mailing 2500 cards. I only had three calls.:fie:

Guys, keep in mind that when you get these "poor results" they may not be as poor as you think. You are keeping your company name in front of them for pennies each. Plus it is just one tool in marketing. I started sending out post cards about a year ago. To this point, 1 call that resulted in a closing. Worth it? depends on how you look at it. In the respects that that one job brought in just a little more than the whole mailing campaign cost, it was a complete flop. However, I still send them out and do it on a regular basis. The reason I say it is worth it is because I have done other mailings (not post cards) and hit the phones hard (now you are far closer to a warm call than a cold call) and I have had many people say do you send out the bright yellow post cards? BAM! that is the point.

Direct closings due to just postcards: 1. A loss of money. Closings that the postcards aided in helping close: not really sure, I would have to count them specifically. But if we are just talking about the cost of the post card and shipping, we have brought in nearly 60K from less than 1K worth of postcards.

They are a TOOL!!!
