Training the AHJ

Phil Ackland

KEC Expert
Below are samples of Evaluation Responses of one of our most recent 2-Day Phil Ackland Fire Inspector seminars.

The instructor for this Seminar was Jim Roberts of DPW Services out of Louisville.

These seminars consist of a one-day power point presentation reviewing the Phil Ackland Inspectors Manual and a second day of onsite inspections of actual kitchens.

As you will read, the seminar opened a lot of eyes.

It is our opinion that only by educating the AHJ will the efforts of conscientious exhaust cleaners be appreciated.

Question:
What did you find most beneficial about the seminar?

Responses:

It was all beneficial, enjoyed the actual inspections. One of the best classes I've taken. Also thought the instructor was good at what he was teaching

It was very informative and a great continuing education experience.

After going through the course I learned how to recognized potential problems that many inspectors may have missed.

It is very thorough and I learned a lot. The instructor was very knowledgeable.

Learned where the grease hides. Great instructor, lots of great information

This is one of the best and most informative classes I've had in my 12 years in the fire service. I think DOD should make this course mandatory for all fire departments across the nation.

The knowledge and life experience of the instructors, the hands-on training!! It had just about perfect amount of classroom and hands-on training. The wisdom and experience of the instructor was unbelievable -- Absolutely great class

I would highly recommend this class and the instructor

Knowledge gained in this course gives me the ability to improve life/fire safety for Minot AFB.

Conclusion:
About 40 inspectors down only 54,961 fire inspectors to go!

I wish EVERY AHJ had to attend a training course like that!
