Turbo nozzle pulsates

The other day I hooked up my turbo, squeezed the trigger and it started ok, but after a few seconds, it started pulsating. I'm using a flow activated unloader, could that be the problem? I tried adjusting the unloader, screwing it down, it improved a bit, but didn't fix the problem. I un-screwed it and it got worse.

Is this a new turbo nozzle? If so, you may have the wrong size for your machine output. What are your gpm and psi? What size orifice is in the nozzle (should be stamped near the 1/4" inlet)?

If you dropped it you could have chipped the Ceramics inside.
You have to be careful about hitting them on the ground.
Eggs are harder to break.

Thanks for the replies guys. It is a new nozzle, I've had it a few months but tried to use it for the first time last week, size is 4.5. My machine is 5.6gpm/3500 psi. I didnt find any dirt or anything in the nozzle and the ceramic seems to be in good shape.

There's your problem....your machine requires a 5.5 nozzle, so you have it undersized. I'll be willing to bet it's got a K7 unloader on it too, huh? K7's do not act like regulators the way a trapped pressure unloader will. Get a 5.5 Turbo, and I think everything will work fine.

Thanks Russ. I dont have a K7, its a Giant flow activated unloader..probably about the same tho. You are in Louisville, do you know Mark (Pokey) Borgens or Dean Craft of Winchester? Your name sounds familar to me. Dean use to own Blue Diamond Cleaning Systems from Chicago.

I went on a Service call in San Francisco today. It was a 2 hour drive there and 2 hours back. The problem was discovered in the first 5 min after my arrival.
Guess what the problem was? Ummmm auhhhh The Tip was too small. They swapped guns from another machine that was alot smaller and it cost them $300.

I got a new turbo today. #5.5, I'll try it over the week-end and see what happens. Thanks you guys for the help.

Thanks Ron. The new turbo works great.
