Two Night Job Problem!!!!!!!

We have servicing a large hotel in Sacramento for years. The job takes two nights and is complicated. I set the appointment two weeks out so the hotel can have the rooms near the back door un occupied because of the noise.

Last weekend we set up and completed the first night. The second night my manage got 3 hours into the job, 20 minutes from completion of shooting the system when the manager shut us down because of complaints about the sound of my Landa. The manager tried to explain what we were doing with no avail. We pulled out with the unit being half serviced.

The hotel was being occupied by a Fireman's Convention-I kid you not.

Sounds like a typical mis or non communication on the customers end, I thought I only had that problem.

The Firemen

Just let engineering know what happened and bill them on your Dalmatian stationary.

David,

Maybe you could consider using an 110v electric steam power washer. It's very quite, not quite as powerful as your Landa, I'm sure, but would have allowed you to have completed the job.

We use a Largo Model 21 PEO custom modified by our distributor with an adjustable thermostat that allows you to adjust temp up to 250' F (steam).

I agree that we should have had a back/up and we do-however things happen. The reason that I found it funny was that the hotel was filled with firemen(talking about fire codes and drills, no less). We have never been shut down at this hotel.

Thanks

David ever think the reason the Fireman have their meetings at a Hotel is so they can have one night of peace and quite, no alarms, no noise etc.

The Firemen would be the first ones to ask why the hood were not cleaned. Hood for the most part can only be serviced at nights. Many hotels are designed to look good with the general maintenance a simple after thought.

My job is to service hoods and I could care less if the Firemen had a restful night out of town. I do care that they don't wake up with the hotel on fire because of maintenance issues.

I charged full price for the cleaning and my revisit will be full price. The hotel should have arranged for the service as in the past.
