UAMCC notice from running President

Chris I echo what Tony said and also just so you know more people know about you than you may think. I know that I know about you because of Ron. Ron was first to tell me about WCR and you and your brother. He is big a supporter of you guys, the WCR and all that your doing.

Exactly!

No offense to anyone but I dont care about supporting the industry, or contractors for contractors or whatever.
If I am going to join something I want to see a straight up list of tangible benefits.
..Things that will impact my businesses bottom line today.
I dont care about a logo, or conventions or meetings. I just want results for my money spent...

Yep, spot on..
and with a networking guru at the reigns..
everybody will profit, by design.
Ron is the man for the job.

This looks and sounds like a great concept like you all are saying its all about "how is it going to benefit my business at the end of the day"

I support Ron fully as he is one of the smartest guys in the industry, he has always given me good advice (even when I don't follow it all the time), he has always known what is going on even when the orgs attacked him and accused him of things that he did not do but knew how to fix the problem, etc....

I would make sure that all the empty promises that were made by Carlos were done finally like the non-profit status were finally met, the url handed over finally, the org handed over finally and everything else that should have been done years ago is finally done so that the org can move on without NO STRINGS ATTACHED to any of the dumbasses or clowns in the background. Now once that is finally done if it has not been done finally then it is time to make the org something that contractors will want to join and Ron can do that as he has the right approach and the real intellect to do so.

I would like to see real benefits for the members, not just blowing smoke up people's azzes, not making empty promises, not lying and getting caught in the lies, etc..... Real benefits for the members so that members will have a reason to join, not for a dumb logo or worthless meetings where you have idiots running around like high school cheerleaders that are clueless chanting the name of the org while looking stupid and people laughing at them and wondering why these idiots are trying to promote something so much that is totally useless in the eyes of most contractors.

Ron, you are the man to do the job, I hope you have time to get this worthless org in shape, make it something that I would like to join, give the members something of actual value for their money, give potential members reasons to join and do like what Chris L.'s org did, give out a lot of good forms, paperwork, manuals, etc.. that business really need and could use but are hard to find or take many years to make the hard way. The paperwork, forms and manuals is one reason that I would like to join that org as it has real value to me.

Chris, are you running for the BOD? You should definitely run to help Ron move this forward, you have some good thoughts. Step up and help Ron & the BOD avoid all the screw ups of the past.

Chris Chappell for UAMCC BOD, just find someone to nominate you and you're in

You know Doug I was wondering how many guys know about most things not just because of my individual promotion but the awareness tone we all together as contractors have set as an example in the industry.

Prior to PWI things where all about a few folks with very narrow hall ways. Know we just find and utilize the best sources. It's not that I'm a supporter of one thing or another it's about what's the best thing for a person to do.

Chris has a great program and that's why I tell people about it. It's that simple. There's no reason we can't have a pw org focused on what we need as well. We need good program like any of these other orgs that are successful. It's sorta funny because here we are again as contractors looking at what a distributor built as a model. Keep in mind there's no doubt in my mind Chris has built a great org that's top notch in the window cleaning industry. Can you imagine what we could do as contractors if we really hit the grind stone? It's pretty much unlimited. This as a contractors member run org non profit can accomplish simply things that's others will never be able to achieve.

We as business people just need the vision to understand that what simple benefits are needed and what the major long term goals are that should be achieved.

I think the sky's the limit!!!!

Nothing good is easy and simple things can be duplicated and made better. Just takes a few people willing to help that things become reality. I know we can lead. The way to a better future if we can get the chance.

A couple simple goals to start...

Help contractors protect themselves from misguided govt interference.

Help contractors make more $.

Top notch goal Chris , you have a story first hand I know. Power of orgs worked for you, I'm hoping you will hold on to that story for the future. That mattered at the time and this is why we never know when help will be needed. I was glad in your case at the time I was able to influence the right people. It's shouldn't be that way, we should have people in place just to tackle problems like yours if they ever arrive at our door step. Any contractor member or not to get help.

Thanks Chris for helping me remember this and focused efforts for sure in the future.

I feel there is great potenial with the uamcc, but as of yet it is well hidden and I see no reason to join the org. However I think the org could be the next big thing. It is going to take someone that know what is going on in the industry and have a passion to do what needs to be done, and I know of no better person that qualifies than Ron Musgraves!!

He has help a lot of contractors along the way including me, he has spent a lot of time putting on the different roundtables, he has spent a lot of time in Huston in a time of trouble, and he brings a lot of knowledge along with him.

As one of the first posters said, I want customers to ask me "are you a member of the UAMCC"?

Go for it Ron!!!

Make it so my customners ask me...are you a member of the UAMCCC? I want my customers to know about it before I have to tell them. Pipe Dream?????

Doug in the residential world I think it's a dream. In the commercial world I think it can be achieved fairly easy. Promotion through various trade org and direct mail is a realistic goal. Of course dual members promotion which has never been pushed or focused in. A member awareness campaign collectively to assist is making this happen.

I know together we can accomplish these things.

Benefits and freebies are ok, there is no reason they can't get member specials on some things.

More important I agree with Chris and Ron though first it needs to run like a business not a good ol boy network. Start by looking out for the contractors so they can stay in business. Develop some regional groups that can meet regular and can discuss problems or things that are impacting their business in their regions that way they can develop a strategy to attack it before it becomes a national issue. Lets get PROACTIVE not reactive in what the org is doing for us the contractor!

That's right Paul a powerhouse of resources never tap. A funnel of people from the entire cleaning industry. People who have the money abs resources to provide programs to obtain tangible Benita with a reciprocating return on there efforts.

Funny how the world works, when you actually look at things from a business perspective. Members have to have value , even associate members.

No distributor wants to just give. They give to charity's , we are business people who they simply just provide a service too. Distributors and members need to understand this is a two way street. This is a huge problem , contractors think why don't these distributors foot the bill for everything. Distributors discussed about helping because of such crappy return on investment in orgs. This is a problem but with the right program and communication between distributors manufactured and contractors we should come up with programs that should be a win win for all.

Most here dont know me.. but to give you a little background I started a window cleaning association just a little over a year ago.

We just had our first round of renewals and so far we are looking at about a 95% renewal rate. We signed up over 200 members in the first year. We are the most expensive in our industry to join, but we offer the best benefits. The other trade associations in our industry see a 20 - 55% renewal rate each year.. As said above I urge you strongly to run it like a real business. Most orgs are a complete joke. They are made up of volunteers who put in a little effort at first and even less as time goes on.

I should mention we are NOT a non profit so it makes things a bit easier. Run this thing like a business and get guys and gals on board who really really want to be there and you will be in good shape.

Good Luck!

Chris I'll put you on the spot, everyone here know you because as you are finding out I tell everyone to join your efforts.

Join the Uamcc as a vendor window cleaning member and help us continue to promote your distributorship as the window cleaners choice and wcra as the resource for people in the window business to be. You see I'm already a step ahead I need you for the void in this area. The Uamcc stand for united association of mobile cleaning contractors which window cleaners fall under that category. Beyond a shadow of a doubt your recognized as the best in talents of residential window cleaners. You may have helped more window cleaners that I may have helped pw. So as a business person if I get elected I want wcr association to work with Uamcc to better the entire industry and make it work for you as a business person who owns and operates a distributorship selling window cleaning supply's. I can guarantee nothing other than you will make money like a business man. In return we only expect your support as an associate member. I gotcha because off my past efforts I can find at least 20 guys who have bought a wcra membership via Ron Musgraves and many more who buy from your distributorship regularly. You have to remember I plan on working with everyone in this industry. Chris you have great talents with vision and I've just given you business man choice that can't be denied. Join the Uamcc if I become president because it's a wise business choice because the stocks going up when I get elected.

And you like me sometimes 😜

Get rid of the whole by contractors for contractors mentality, from what I've seen with these type orgs is that contractors don't know crap about how to run them!

Like Chris and Ron said, run it like a business.

I simply like "leading the industry"

Chris, you have done a great job with your other hat!

Yes and helping us would only be another good business decision to increase his window cleaning following and promote his efforts further. He is the guy in the window cleaning industry the Uamcc could use. He does wear his hats well, he should have you seen that dew he has after a couple hurricanes?

Hey Ron! I'm excited to see your running for President. You have brought a lot of knowledge and organization over the years to numerous round tables around the country. I think you could do the same for an organization like the UAMCC. I have been in the power washing for over 4 years now and I've yet to figure out how I would benefit from joining the UAMCC. Maybe you could bring a beneficial mission to the organization. As to what Chris said earlier about an organization, he couldn't have said it any better. I joined the WCRA a year ago and the benefits are endless. And most importantly my bottom line has increased as a direct result of the WCRA services. Now that's what I'm talking about. I think you can do this for the power washing industry. Good luck!!

Well brother thanks for the nice words. I plan on building something at the Uamcc that will be valuable to contractors and others in the industry. Sometimes the real benefits can go beyond marketing material, manuals and such. Org first focus is awareness to the industry at large and standards. I realize in residential service this does not matter, in the commercial world it does. Customer are concerned they have the proper knowledgeable contractor on the roof or swing stage.

The only thing is no org focuses on these things to customers because we can't get past membership packets. Lol

Your right we need things contractors can put there hands on and get immediate roi.

Great post

Ron, I'm glad you finally listened to me. I don't think you will have any trouble getting elected. Who else has the drive, determination, relentlessness, ability, and most of all DESIRE to whip this org into shape? Put your salesmanship and networking skills to good use. Forget about the children for once and make it a tangible asset to the members.

When I told you that you had to join as a contractor and run I meant it.
Now get in there and "get 'er did".

Everyone saying, "Ron's the man for the job"- if you really mean it then pay, join, and vote. Otherwise it's just the same internet cheerleading.
