Titan electric aluminum. I like the a lot, but will go stainless next time for easier cleaning.

I have tried many out there but the quality of Hanny is about the best, especially the electric reels.

The General, Cox and generic start rusting in less than 6 or 3 months, paint quality is just not there.

Almost all of them come with the cheap brass swivels, get the super swivel, it is the best out there.

I have a couple of Titan hose reels and they are ok, aluminum stays good but the black bushing/brake or whatever it is breaks off within a year and has to be replaced.

I know a lot of guys that have had the Steel Eagle reels for years and decades like Hannay Reels, have not tried them yet.

I have 3 Aluminum Titans and three Cox Reels. Titans are great!! The Cox reel swivels blow quickly and paint cracks up but they still work fine for storage reels. I won't buy another Cox reel but would definitely buy another Titan.

I have 2 Summit Reels and 1 Steel Eagle on the truck. 1 Cox and 1 Steel Eagle on the trailer. I personally think all 3 brands are great but each of them have their own quirks.

Titan is looking pretty good.

Hey Ralph, I'm in the same boat as you,..and I also think after researching I am also going to go with the Titan,..probably the aluminum 18" with manual wind and stainless manifold upgrade along with the Super Swivel. This reel will be used for roof cleaning,.so manual rewind isn't bad with 1/2" Kuri-Tec.

*The one I've used for the last several years was a homemade "brand" Ha,Ha,..It works good,..and has an easy to change manifold,..but I want something that looks better and is easier to maintain,..(No Painting)

Agree 100%...dollar for dollar you want find a better quality reel...I have a Hannay, (non electric) I got off a pest control company about 3 years ago. It had a quite a few years on it. It had/has the original swivel, and still going great for me with no leaks and I run nothing but SH through it for roof and house cleanings.

Chris what do you do if the motor goes down on the job?? can you hand crank or what??

thanks
dave

Ralph

I use a titan SS Manuel, but I think I will be getting electric one next.

Haven't had on go down, but you could still roll it in by hand. Would take a while with no handle but it would still roll in.

Thanks Chris good to know, funny every one I asked about a electric reel braking said that it has never happened to them, thats a very good sign knock on wood!!

They are very beefy, and really don't run very long periods per day. If you get one, I would suggest the right gage wire and solid connections for carefree operation.

I like the Cox reel I have, but I have only had it for a few weeks. According to the reviews I might change my mind real soon. Been using a Legacy for about 10 months. Works nice, no leaks...starting to rust though. Titan here I come.

Make sure when you order the titan specify the ss manifold or you will be buying one sooner than later.

Absolutely, good call Hal!

Titans here too. We've been using them for about 4 years now. Electrics, manual, pressure, roof, & supply, I think it's like 11 total. Only ones we will use.
