Will I need an extension wand?

Speed's wash

Hello everyone,it's getting warm here in Texas and the calls are starting to roll in.
Question, I just got a call from a customer who wants their two story house washed. This is my first two story wash and I do not have an extension wand yet. Do I need to rush out and get one (24ft), or does anyone know how I can accomplish this without one.I only have an 8ft. ladder.
What should I do?

Thanks,

Hey Speedy,

As much as I would LOVE to sell one of my Extendawands, I have to admit that you probably don't need one for two or in most cases three story homes. Buy yourself an m5 xjet, hat should be all you need. A lot of companies sell them but I think Sunbrite supply has the cheapest price on them right now. (about $135.oo) http://www.sunbritesupply.com

a 2 story house i did last week i used my o degree tip and from an 6 ft ladder was able to what was needed. it was very helpful for cleaning the gutters out as well...

Ckeck change
they have them for $129 and change

It is a good Idea to get an extension wand. Here in GA your not allowed to have full basements. There has to be an exit in the basement. So you'll see a 2 story house which from the front looks like it can be done with your regular wand into a 3 story home. (Funny how when people mention they have a 2 story home how they forget to mention they have a basement.)

What you can do is get some steel or aluminum tubing from lowes or home depot cut yourself about an 8ft extension. Or however long you so desire. And take a die to the tubing to thread it. So you standing about 6ft and your wand reaching up to 8ft. plus your extra foot of arm can get the tip of the wand up to 15ft. Then you'll be about 3ft or more away from the surface you are wanting to clean so you should be able to do houses up to 20ft high by standing on foot. Add a good stable ladder and you should be ok.

I see Northern is selling some 24ft extensions for about $125. And I also saw they have 1 made entirely out of aluminum which should make it lighter. It runs about $200. I'm thinking of buying an aluminum one to see how it works because my Fiberglass is worn out.

We also have the old fiberglass noodles that we would let go pretty cheap - we use Coress wands and x-jets for everything :)
