Window Set-Up

Hello

I have one of my PM's trying to get me to pick up their window cleaning. Some of the properties have 2 story windows. I have been reading up on some techniques, equipment, etc., but would like to get some info from you guys. I have a 3300psi/hot&cold unit with DI tanks.

Questions:

1. Will DI water allow me to stay off of ladders on those 2 story windows?

2. What extension pole system do you recommend (Tucker)?

3. Bucket on a belt, strip washer, and squeegee for 1st floor windows?

Thank you for the help.

ron,

i've been cleaning windows for over 8 years; residential, strip work and construction cleans, new to pressure cleaning.

the best place for supplies is J Racenstein @ http://www.windowcleaningsupplies.com

i really like Unger equipment, very durable, i stay away from all the gadgets, most guys i know use the following setup;

8, 12, and 18 or 24 inch squeegees
10 and 18 inch scrubber
6 inch Triumph scraper
4 foot pole extendable to 8 feet (Ettore or Unger)
5 gal bucket
nylon belt holster
ladders depend on jobs

use Dawn or Glass Gleam 3 for cleaner , work
out of a 5 gal bucket half filled with your cleaning solution and tools

hope that helps,

call me if you want more info on prices, tools, etc, a good place to start with a strip center is $1-2 per piece of glass, exterior only if you're hired by PM company
