X-jet worth every penny?

Maybe I am just surprised that it does such a good job with such a simple little piece of hardware and seems to good to be true...Reading the forums most of you guys really believe in it so I am all for getting rid of ladders..

My question is do you still generally carry extension wands for the just incase situations that may arise, and even ladders aswell?

Any tips/pointers using the x-jet?

thanks!

I have done 2-3 story buldings using the x-jet on an extend a wand (18') and a step ladder when needed for the peaks/gutters.
It allows me to get proper chem application to avoid having to cover every square inch with a nozzle. Done right the dirt will rinse off with mild pressure.

best tip I can think of is to use a 15 gallon chem bucket on a cart. You can apply a lot of mix in no time. Lugging 5 gal pails around and spilling them on a lawn is not a good idea.

I have been debating whether or not to buy an X-Jet. After reading the debates posted on this BBS, I decided to just go ahead and try it. Just ordered an M-5 and a 15 gallon tank. Already have the hand truck. I was planning to use it for a mobile 12 volt roof cleaning pump setup, but I already set that up on my trailer. Just need to get a few roof jobs and make it all pay for itself now. Being in New England, not too many home owners want to hear about roof fungus, but I am plugging away at it as a market. Hoping for the best.

We use the X-Jet and love it. Just like every piece of equipment it has it's uses. We even use it when washing fleets. We have a 100' detergent line running from our chem buckets to the Xjet Nozzle - we use a velcro zip tie to attach the detergent line to the handle where the chem shut off is. I will take a picture of it and post it - pictures are just way easier than explaining things. Plus you dont have to wait for the detergent to run out of your line before you rinse. I will make a video tutorial of the Xjet this weekend and post it. Just because so many people are curious about them.

ive been using a insectorside hand pump, and a 5 gallon bucket on windy days to apply my mix directly on the bad spots. then use my extended wand to apply house wash then rinse. seems like at lot work, but no overspray. i still ordered an X-jet, hope i dont get carried away with it. and spray everthing on the block

this is gonna be my 6 house this saturday. this will be the first time im using the x-jet, should i tarp the plants? ive been using a wand so far

Steam Cookin'

I would at least water them down while applying but tarping is a good idea but dont leave them tarped too long heat will build under the tarp and damage the plants

Yeah they will look like you burnt them in a steamer.

thanks a lot guys. i only do this part time. im in the army, got 20 years this summer. if this dont work out, ill take my x- jet to iraq and wash them dirty you know what!

just did my first house today using the x-jet, wonderful. my mouth taste like bleach, but some budwiser will fix that. i was using tarps for the plants but when i pulled the tarps off ,the mix got on the plants anyway. so i did like Russ said and just watered as i go. every time i pull up to a house and start washing the neighbors come out with their walmart crap, start it up and give up. lol
