OK now the next question is how should I have my roof cleaned??? Is pressure washing the roof a viable option? There are alot of companies out there doing it, and calling it low pressure, so it must be ok? The answer to that is NO. The granuels in the shingles get removed with pressure. Even low pressure dislodges the granuels in the shingles. The roof companies know this too. That is why they are saying they will void any waranty if pressure is used to clean the shingles.

The ARMA (american roof manufacturers assoc.) posted a bulliten on how they want there shingles cleaned. This method is a no pressure chemical cleaning.
This no pressure method gives immediate results! Does no damage to your roofing shingle.
