Wow things have been so busy since Softwashapolooza 2012 in beautiful, sunny Orlando, Florida. 40 soft washing professionals, from 15 states converged on the Holiday Inn UCF for three days of in class instruction mornings and in field instruction afternoons.
The evening before everything kicked off my family welcomed everyone into our home for some Southern Hospitality and cooked a true Texas style BBQ with smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, slaw, beans, corn bread, jalapeno poppers and cobbler. We took advantage of this time to register all attendees and pas out their TYVEC jump suits, rubber gloves and respirators they would need for training. Also each attendee was provided a three ring binder with 23 tabs and workbooks for all of the modules taught at the event.
Day one included three sessions from the SoftWash Systems TM certification curriculum taught by Pete Marentay of Sun Brite Supply. He covered the Science & Technology of SoftWashing, Chemical Mixology and Plant & Property Protection. Then we had lunch catered at the hotel while Bill Booz of Accuwash instructed us at our daily Safety Lunch & Learn about PPE. Then all of the attendees went outside as we loaded 6 new SoftWash Systems TM Patent Pending Cradle Skids in new owners trucks. Once the new systems were loaded in the trucks we turned the attention of the 40 attendees and the new SoftWash Systems TM rigs towards the dirty hotel.
Day two included three sessions from the SoftWash Systems TM certification curriculum taught by Paul Kassander of The Power Wash Store He covered the Popcorn Marketing, Guerrilla Marketing and Paid Marketing modules from SoftWash Systems TM Certification Program. The daily Safety Lunch & Learn about road rules was taught by Chris Madden of Palmetto Soft Wash that day. After lunch the attendees were divided into three groups, loaded in 15 passenger vans and transported to off site locations for cleaning instruction on REAL Soft Wash job sites. The homes that were cleaned were in a turn of the century style community in Orlando, Florida named Baldwin Park.
Day three included three sessions from the SoftWash Systems TM certification curriculum taught by Chris Madden of Palmetto Soft Wash He covered the Tracking & Measuring, Dispatching Resources and Morgan Booz of Accuwash shared charts, graphs and other data from Accuwash's successes they have had this past year soft washing and implimenting some of Professional Business Guides systems and marketing programs. The daily Safety Lunch & Learn was taught by Ray Burke of Spray Wash that day. Again the attendees were divided into three groups, loaded in 15 passenger vans and transported to off site locations for cleaning instruction. Surfaces soft washed that day were, bank flat tile roof, white pvc awnings, residential home shingle roof, pool screen enclosure, concrete driveway, brick exterior, stucco exterior and more.
When the event had closed all attendees had been through 15 of the 20 SoftWash Systems Master Business Certification and had earned their SoftWash Systems CARES and Lead SoftWash Tech certifications. In all 56 certifications were earned by softwashing professionals that weekend.
The social element was there as well. Each and every night a restaurant was pre-arranged for everyone to meet at. Hours were spent socializing, trading war stories and encouraging each other towards growing our businesses.
The greatest fact above and beyond instruction, show specials and hands on training was the fact that though the event had a fee of $499.00 to attend not a single person was turned away because of their ability not to pay. Because of generous donations by other attendees, Sun Brite Supply, The Power Wash Store, Southside Equipment and ProBizGuide.com a full third of the attendees were scholarshiped through the event.
