WICHITA, Kansas - The Burger King on east Kellogg caught fire just after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
"I was making burgers, and all of a sudden I saw smoke coming from the broiler, but that's usual," worker Beto Contreras said. "Then we saw lots of smoke coming out. Somebody at the drive through said there was black smoke."
Fire crews say they saw smoke and flames on the roof of the restaurant.
Once firefighters checked it out, they discovered the fire was contained to an exhaust system. Right now it appears grease built up in the exhaust system and started the fire.
The restaurant suffered minimal damage, but will be closed until the health department checks it out.
