I have a subscription to the Cleaner Times but not sure if I will subscribe again.
There is a lot of info about executives and business people from companies I have never heard of, all kinds of CETA stuff, a whole lot of articles about things that are not really about pressure cleaning in my opinion, usually a whole lot of fluff and filler.
I don't know who those people are they are writing about.
I don't know what company that is that is having a retirement party for someone.
I don't know who that writer is, have they ever pressure washed before, done windows, cleaned buildings?
There is just a whole lot of stuff that I don't know who they are, who they are writing about and who those companies are.
I really think if it is possible to get a magazine for the pressure cleaning industry but without outside influences, none of the politics, none of the vendor sponsored articles talking about their company, none of the vendor sponsored agendas, etc...... It should be about pressure cleaning and nobody pulling the strings in the background to manipulate the magazine or an org that is owning it without people knowing it or articles based on lies and mis-information.
I think that there are enough contractors out there that can provide info for articles or even write them and have someone go over them to make sure they are ready to be put into the magazine but without changing the article. It would not take many contractors to provide content for the magazine but it would have to be consistent so there is always content for the magazine.
I have mentioned that I am not a writer but would write some articles (would need a lot of editing) for the magazine to help out when I have time.
There could be articles about every aspect of this industry from House Washing to Truck Washing to Roof Cleaning to Concrete Cleaning to Vent Hood Cleaning, etc....
This is a great time to start a magazine to help this industry in many different ways.
If I had to guess at a number of companies that are on these forums vs. the number of companies that are not here, don't know they exist or don't care/don't want to spend their time on the forums, I think that the people on the forums are not even 10% of all the companies in the USA, probably not even 5% if I had to guess.
With a magazine, some of those companies might be interested in an industry publication that can actually have information that will be usefull to their businesses, not a lot of fluff and filler like a lot of other industry type magazines have.
I don't have any idea what this would cost to print but with the online printing companies out there and prices always getting less expensive, maybe this can be done affordably.
Vendors can advertise and promote their products like in all the other magazines, subscriptions can help pay for some of the costs but the articles might help the contractors' credibility in things they talk to their customers about, especially if they write articles that are put into the magazine.
I am not sure how the magazine works, all the ins and outs but I think it can be a great thing for our industry.
