Candy Jars = Good Marketing!

Cleaning with Aloha
Thanks to Ron for this idea. We made up the candy jars with our biz card on them and delivered them to PMs. We told them we would be back in two weeks to fill them up. They got a great response and were an awesome way to get in the door! Everyone just lit up when they saw the candy! Really good way to break the ice. I highly recommend trying it. Thanks Ron.

I know, the pics suck, but you get the idea.

Yeah, we got ours at Walmart. Ron - do you get blank ones at Walmart and have them engraved?

Just wondering what you say when you leave it there with your cards on it or inside.

Do you just tell them that it is a gift?

What if you do not do business with them, are they suspicious?

Just looking to find out what to say when I start leaving them around.

Thanks.

I glued the cards to the outside, but engraving would be much nicer. Still, it didn't look to bad.

I just walk in there with a big smile and show them the jar 1st thing. I say "Hey! I have some candy for you guys!" Then they're like "wow great!" After that I give them the pressure wash spiel and the unsolicited bids we've put together. Some of the PMs we are already working for and they were very happy too. Took one to our best builder as well. One person was so excited they said it made their day. They started picking out all the best candy out before anyone got to it!

Don't worry about what to say. It seems to always go over well and get a good response. Everyone likes candy, especially when you say you'll refill it. Today a friend of mine went into one of the offices for some reason. She asked me how I got them to leave a jar with my name on it on the front desk!

Good video Ron. My jars don't look gawdy do they? lol

I like the note about not throwing the jar away. I'm afraid that might happen with the first round.

Great idea!

Are these out in the open for everyone... or are they just for the business you put them in?

If they're where everyone coming into the business can see them, maybe mount a little sleeve on the side and stuff some biz cards in there so people can take them? And hope you refill the cards as much as the candy? :D

Ron - Thanks for the extra details on the subject. I like how you guys put so much thought into the details of the process. Taking a new jar is soooo much better than going in there and trying to fill the old one, dropping candy all over the place!

I'll get some engraved and trade them out in two weeks. I'll report back and see how many are actually still there. I think I know right now which offices they will still be in and which ones will have disappeared.

Any tips on what type of places will engrave them for a good price?
