Anyone use a 5.5 @ 2500 psi?

If you are use to running a 8 gpm I don't think you will like running a 5 gpm anymore, at least not for rinsing.

That is just my thoughts. I

started with a 5gpm and thought it was the worlds largest and now I have 8 gpm and pulled one of the 5 gpm out last year for the same purpose and found that it was just kind of slow even to rinse with.

It will for sure work, but will be just a little slower for sure.

Once you get use to 8gpm it is hard to go back!!!

Never used a machine with those specs... have got 5.5's and a 9gpm @ 3,500 and 3,000 psi respectively. The higher and lower flows have their uses for different applications and situations.

If you have a hotbox with that 2,500 psi machine, it could make for a good gum picking machine. It would push a surface cleaner, but you would probably want short runs of hose due to pressure loss in 3/8" hose.

If it was me, I would want a second machine that I knew could be used in multiple applications, but the majority of our work is commercial sidewalk and building cleaning. Long runs of hose and higher output pressure needed.

However, it would serve a purpose in residential settings at it has adequate flow and reduced pressure.

yea I have a low pressure 5.5 gpm machine we do only decks it works great. I still use big tips to lower the pressure on wood since you dont need much PSI

Got one on the trailer. Just replaced the pump on It. It's the helpers machine. It turns a 20" surface cleaner fine with cold water and obviously does well for house washing.

It would be good for house washing with those specs.

If the concrete is not very dirty, like residential concrete, a surface cleaner would work but I would not use it on commercial concrete unless you are using 100' hoses, longer hoses will cause a lot of pressure loss and affect cleaning.

I have been using one for the last two years. It is a great little residential machine. I use a Kohler hydro 12.75 hp with a General TS2021. It is alot cheaper than the skids and never seems to break (knock on wood). If I had to say, best bang for the buck all around machine. If you want a few more psi, Kohler came out with the 14 hp engine.

I had a backup cold machine on the flatbed with a 5.5 Direct drive on a 13hp motor. It was OK and would push the Landa waterjet, but it didn't do that great of a job. It was running about 2400psi if I remember right.

Switched to a 16hp and now it cleans just fine at around 2900 psi or so.
