Hunting pics

Going on my fifth year bowhunting deer and elk. Haven't gotten squat yet. I seem to spaz out when I get close. Gotten pretty good at the camping thing though.

Don't feel bad, and don't give up. I missed a bobcat at 12 yards with a shotgun.....how, I have no idea.

But I didn't miss this one :D

YeeHaa!The only consolation for summer ending is HUNTING SEASON!Our "benevolent" states allow us to provide for our families,we can enjoy our beloved moments in the field, the glory, and joy of the hunt that reminds us of our freedom. The opportunity to pass this on to our children,a treasure to be guarded with our very lives.Never let that be taken from us!Go STEELERS!

Every since I got pets I've had a harder and harder time hunting/killing animals. Bobcats/coyotes would be hard for me, look too much like pets. I'm sure I'd feel different if they were disturbing my farm, etc. Some days it doesn't bother me, some days I don't want to ever kill anything again. I think somebody is swapping out my Xanax for Estrogen or something:) Anyways, this is the best buck I've killed. The last time I hunted, a few years ago. Wow, actually about six years ago. Shot him with a .243 at about 250yds.

nice Jon...

I take my dog hunting with me sometimes....I love my pets too. Amigo (my black lab) loves to hunt, he's getting too old now though, but still barks at em and lets them know who's boss. Sometimes man, I feel bad for those poor coyotes out there starving...there are WAY too many of them...it's like I'm doing them a favor honestly

Yeah I know. I'm just a wiener sometimes. They are overpopulated, just like deer in the southeast, Texas, etc. My buddy from South Carolina said they don't even have to check deer in anymore. Actually, I don't even think there is a limit on how many you can kill. Alabama may be that same way. Tell ya what, as a general rule, deer hunting in the Southeast is crap because the deer are so small, but the area of KY you are from grows really nice deer. Nice, heavy-racked big bucks. Definitely equivilent to where I am at in Missouri---not as good as say, Northern Iowa/Southern Wisc., Kansas, NB, but really quality bucks for the SE.

I'm sure the calling is fun and addictive. Me and my dad turkey hunt a lot.....nothing funner than calling in a big longbeard. Hearing him gobble as he comes to you. Of course, I guess the cats/coyotes are sneak-attacking when you are calling. What are you averaging per coyote pelt?? Those look like really nice furs compared to around here.
