Power Washers of North America
The
PWNA is looking for new board members! This position requires
attendance to monthly board conference calls, annual face-to-face board
meeting, must be a PWNA member who is in good standing, and must be a
contractor with over 50% of their revenue derived from power washing.
...Please contact headquarters at 1-800-393-7962 for details

My experience is calling PWNA will result in no call back.

I stepped over to the dark side and became a supplier. Now not even 1% of my income comes from power washing. Ofcorse when I was on the service side I didn't power wash, I SoftWash'd everything. Would that have counted???? LOL

Id love to serve but I am a vendor now.

I can't believe they are not calling me to be on the board.

They called and emailed and tried to contact you through your website but you don't check voicemail or any internet stuff so you missed out.

Hahahaha,

Do we have a lawnmower manufacture on the board? Think of all the landscapers we could sign up!!!

Maybe we could form a division called "The Power Rinsers Of North America"
Membership: Only $8 an hour

I can't do it b/c PWing isn't 50% of our gross sales. But i do want to bring somethign to the attention of the PWNA.

I had a sit down with a municipality to discuss 800k sq ft on concrete cleaning ... told them in my lil presentation we were a member of the PWNA - there response "There is an organization for pressure washers?"

Seriously PWNA needs to get on this. One of the main stances of the org is educations. Want me to renew when membership comes up? Help out the members and do a direct mail to all the major municipalities saying use a member. Those are the types of things i want to see my dollars going towards.

I've been saying basically the same thing. We just donated more to a local non profit than the PWNA dues. My advertising dollars goes where I feel I'll get my best ROI.

I'll tell you what, I apologize for allowing it after 20 years. The buck stops with you!!! Dj you will be me in 20 years if you don't get involved. Each and every person can simply complain about the Pwna , you are the pwna. Your as much the pwna as your a member here. You have a say, stop complaining about what they don't do and changed it.

I'm sorry our leaders and myself have failed you. Don't repeat the next 20 years!!

I like DJ's idea's but I remember when I served they just didn't have the money in there to spend on mailers etc. A big thing with the PWNA is that they need to keep there Website ranking high up there and in turn members should connect there websites to the PWNA. I know I got a couple of jobs thru my PWNA membership so it can work.

The problem with the PWNA today IMHO is that they have less members then they did 6-8 yrs ago. They have a better business plan in there today then back in the day but they need to bring that membership up and up.

This is an age old arguement. There membership for many this year thru the NCE was $250. Of course you write that off so its really cheaper. You also get your Cleaner Times mag with your membership. Now if you market you membership lets say thru your website and maybe throw there logo and website on your estimates for the initial $250 its really a steal.

Link many things to your website like Facebook,Linkend, etc and also an org. Yes the first two are pretty much free but you can have the whole monty just for a few bucks----Age old arguement.

You are taking this personally when you really have little to do with his point.

PWNA is a business, it's customers are people that buy, sell, own or use pressure washers in their business. What DJ is pointing out is a simple fact of business......that in order to sell a product or service, you must demonstrate it's value. It's a simple issue of cost vs worth. If PWNA offered value to his business which is regional, he'd remain a member.

The big tent plan is showing it's design flaws and I really don't see how your solution of getting involved to change it is possible. It's not DJ's job to fix PWNA.....he just did his job. He told a business that he seen no value in their product. If they can add value to his business or improve his profits he'll buy. It's on the people that wish PWNA to succeed to figure out how to address his issue.

Maybe that's where we should start.....breaking down the PWNA by beneficiary and then setting dues appropriately. Why should a $50k gross sales pressure washing contractor member have to pay 70% of what a 1 million+ gross sales supplier's pays in dues?

that is not the way to do it. Why is it the large guys fault they are successful and why should they carry the dues of a smaller company. Are you for re distribution of wealth also. Nothing personal just my opinion.
