Hello all,
My name is Andy and I am new on the team at PowerWashStore.com. I will be working alongside Bill and Paul taking orders and answering questions. I have 13yrs experience in exterior wood restoration, ran a cedar shake and shingle restoration division, I also did deck restoration as well. To start out the deck must be free of any moss, mildew, fungus, dead wood fibers and old stain/preservative. To accomplish this, a low pressure cleaning should be done along with the correct detergent (stripper or percarb) to remove the impurities. Directly follow the cleaning by applying a brighter/neutralizer. (A soft wash systems such as the ones we sell are great for applying the chemicals and save tons of time over a pump up sprayer!) RINSE WELL. Allow the deck to dry. Return to sand/buff for raised wood fibers or minor finish remnants and apply an oil based preservative (I like Amteco preservatives) by hand/brush or using an airless sprayer.
