Additional Insured Status Time

Are you just talking about having a certificate issued in the property/company's name or are you talking about having them listed on your policy as additional insured. I have no clue why its being requested so often now but alot of property managers in the area are asking for it and its 104.75 each time. I will post a certificate that has the additional status on it as well as one without the status listed. Is this what you are talking about

as a additional insured either one:):):)

Photo 1 is just a certificate issued in the name of the property, this does not cost me anything and is usually done with in 24hrs

photo 22 shows additional status for the property on the certificate in the statutes box. To get this it costs me 105 plus at least 1 week. Are we talking about the same things. To get additional status on a certificate is has to go through the underwriters, not the secretary at the insurance office

Its the same for me

I have in my contract, if property wants to be listed as Additional insured, It will cost the property $106(which is what it costs me). Then they usually say just list us on the policy, which costs nothing. Its $106 and its for a one year term, if I no longer need it, I have to tell them so they don't charge me the next year when I renew my policy

Its a insurance ripoff, thats what my agent says too

Who are you guys using for insurance, Steve, JL, William......etc..

This is something that is changing in the insurance industry depending on which state you are in. Many agents will just type in the company requesting the coverage on the certificate of insurance as an additional insured. This does not really insure them unless it is included with an actual endorsement to the policy. Most people requesting this won't know this unless there is a claim.

I have Nationwide here and I believe it is free to have them on as "Additional Insured" but to have them on the form for "Certificate Holder" cost me about $55.00 for each one now.

I think I get one or two free then after that they charge me. I had to send a money order today in the mail to cover the last one that wanted to be a "Certificate Holder" which will be my biggest account ever if I get this contract. I have done some work for them which they require the most insurance so far.

Being a "Certificate Holder" means that if your insurance gets cancelled for any reason then they are notified so that if you happen to do work for them, they will know you have been dropped from your insurance policy and once they find out, you will not be able to work for them anymore, just them covering their butt.

Forgot to mention, this can take up to a day or two sometimes but usually that same day or ready the following day.

I thought it was backwards, a certificate holder would receive information as well as an additional insured about your policy being canceled however the additional status was the endorcement and that was why your being charged for it.

I will give Chi-chi a call in the morning and see about a quote.

I gave them another chance a couple months ago but since I do not have a policy with them they will not even take the time to give me a quote for the 1 mil on the vehicles, Wow!

I was checking into W.C. and more coverage for the vehicles and more for the business but they do not offer the insurance for the equipment since I live in an area where it could flood if there was a Hurricane (wow, one of many, many reasons why I want coverage, I guess since it floods here once in every 20 to 35 years when a large category 4 or 5 hurricane hits here they are keeping their losses to a minimum, what a joke!) O Well.

I was really NOT IMPRESSED with how little time they try to spend with me on the phone (che che or however you spell her name and the other lady also when I called her last year when che che did not call me back after leaving a few messages for her to call me back).

If I had customer service like that I would not be in business but I guess since they advertise all over the place and show up to events they don't worry about losing some customers to bad service, law of averages excuses will cover up lack of service a lot of times. O Well.

I have a contractors license as well. My agent also has to use VERY specific language that varies from certificate to certificate and I have never been charged a fee.

I just recieved the one I have requested over a week ago today, there was specific language on the certificate as well and sometimes they will not agree to the language being asked for have you ever ran into that

I have a local company, but he's more like a broker, he uses several different companies for everything. I have found its a lot cheaper sometimes to have different companies.
My auto dropped ALMOST $2000 GOING WITH ANOTHER COMPANY THAT IS ACTUALLY RATED BETTER AND i GET A LITTLE MORE COVERAGE. hIS STAFF EACH YEAR WHEN THINGS ARE UP FOR RENEWAL CHECKS AROUND, SOMETIMES I STAY WITH THE SAME INSURANCE COMPANIES SOME TIMES i CHANGE

OOPS ON THE CAPS
I do everything through this guy and it has worked out great. I dont like dealing with companies that only give you one or 2 choices at most. I dropped my other insurance company about 5 or 6 years ago, they couldnt even cover me on some things because they just didnt offer it. I couldnt even get an Inland Marine policy to cover my equipment

Look around and ask questions, you may not need some types of insurances now, but someday you will and you may find out your company won't cover you

My insurance guy even found me a 3 mill umbrella policy on top of all my other insurance, the 3 mill is through my homeowners insurance but it covers anyone coming after me if something happens in my biz and its real cheap, less than $150 I think a year

I don't like insurance companies, but I want to make sure I am covered for just about anything

Hell I got Earthquake insurance even, thats cheap cheapp

Wee have been playing the insurance game for about 2 months.A customers has changed their requirements and we went to the agent who handles our auto to try and get everything under 1 roof.Unfortunately his quaote was $4800,so I decided to get the agnet who has handled our business policy for the last few years to quote the new improved policy. The numbers won't be in until tomorrow or monday, but it looks like we will be under $2000 for the same coverage.
I asked about the additional insured while I was there today. He said if a customer wants to be actually(part of) on the policy they charge $30.If they only wanted to be named on the policy there is no charge. He said it should take 1 day or at the most a few days for an agent to effect the changes and get you or the customer the certificate.
