Advice

I have been in pressure washing for about 6months and have enjoyed cleaning houses and restoring decks. I live in a resort town with a multitude of restaraunts and new ones opening daily. i would like to get involved with kitchen exhuast cleaning, but I am leary. Presently I own a 13 horse 3,500psi cold water unit. Is that sufficient to clean Kitchen exhaust? I am a teacher full time, but I could easily juggle a part time profession if its proftitable. Any advice you guys could provide would be valuable. About how much in start up costs can I expect? Is it necessary to take the Kitchen exhaust cleaning certification training offered by PWNA in Pittsburgh? What do you guys recomend I do?

Don't even try cleaning a hood with a cold-water unit. It will not be a happy night? PWNA offers a class and a Certification in the field-this is a good starting point.

Hop on a plane and come out to California, work with my people for a week and we can get you going. All free just for your labor and a free dinner at the end.

David,

Thanks for the reply...Do I HAVE to be certified or if I took you up on your offer and learned the ropes could I be doing this on my own? Oh yeah are you buying dinner or me?

You learn everything you can and then decide if you need to be certified. It's like going to college-do you have to go-no, however you would be better off. No the dinner is on you-I am not going to feed you too.

Sorry Grant
I finally upgraded my email skills and can now just email the manual. Instead of copying, and mailing. Plus some people send bad checks etc etc. So I stopped mailing and found out how to send them email.
ED
Refunds are out of the question but I am offering my sister as payment, once she gets out of the laboratory, not lavatory, but lab.
Her name is Latrina. lol

is bog in use over your side

hey ed...sounds like a bog-standard name to me:)

ps grant i'll buy that manual off you, woud'nt want to see you out pocket :p , but no seriously there is nothing on sale over here with anything to do with pw business so i am starved of anything to read...i tried to get a subscription to blastermag and get some back issues and then we all got the sad news.

cheers paul :)

Ed,

I am glad to see you have all taken the email so seriously...( you guys sound like some good friends.) I tried to email for the free manual but it came back undeliverable. Is anybody an east coaster who is willing to show me the ropes for a few days/a week in exchange for labor? I would love to go to sacramento, but the cost is pretty high for a flight from Myrtle Beach. I am more and more intersted in getting started .. I have been looking for a used hot water unit and putting out some feelers for work.
