Just wondering if anyone has gone from 5 or 6 GPM up to a 7-8 GPM and what type of difference they saw in their daily washing etc..?

I've never done it...............

But someone at a PWNA show was raving about his 8gpm machines..........says he can do a fast food restaurants flatwork in a half hour........

Keep in mind, you may have increased water problems (supply and transportation issues) Although, I suppose we could argue whether a 8gpm washer really uses more water.........if you can wash faster, you really arent using more water then someone washing at 5gpms.

What type of washing do you do??

All Types

Mike,
I mainly do residential, houses, decks, driveways, patios, but on occasion, I am doing more commercial work as well, I am having a custom unit built, cold water, 24 HP honda with a UDOR 8GPM, pump, looking forward to it, Im trying to sell my Delco 5.2 GPM, 18 HP kohler Hot unit, only 9 months old

8 gpm machine

Yes, go with the 8 gpm machine! I have machines 8, 10, 10 and 5.5. Water volume cleans faster, pressure destroys concrete etc when used in excess. Just get a big tank, fill it first and the a regular hose should suffice. Use bigger tips and experiment. Good luck.

Jim, Tips ?

Hey Jim,
What size tips do you reccommened I get with the new 8 GPM machine,?
I should have it in about a month, Oh yeah, I have also decided to add heat to it just in case I ever need it....

Rob,

Our customers running our 8 GPM @ 3500 PSI machines usually run 1509 nozzles. If it is not too late I suggest you go belt drive on your new machine.

Hey Mark

Hi Mark,
Yes it will be belt drive, also, usually where I work peoples house pressure is at least 5-6 GPM, so I am getting a 100 gallon tank, to stay a little a head
so on the tips for my 5.2 gpm, I would use a 2510 tip to clean wood with, what would you recommend using with 8 GPM..?

Riftz,
When you say that you decided to add heat to the 8gpm powerwasher that you have on order how do you plan heating the water?? I know you can add a Hot box to it but I haven't seen one that can handle more then 5gpm.

Or is it that you have an 8gpm hot water skid on order??

Seperate

John,
No it is not a skid unit, it is being made piece by pice, but will be put in a
aluminum frame, the verticale heater will be at the opposite end of the van in the corner with its own fuel tank, and yes it will heat 8 GPM.. I think they make heaters that will heat even more than that..?

How do you derrivea 1509 nozzle from that chart, maybe I am an idiot but I don't understand.

Or is the 1509 a part number or something?

Hi JUSTME,
the first two number's 15 in 1509 equall the spray pattern.
In other word's the spay pattern come's out at a 15 deg angle
That's about a 3 inc path at a distance of 4inc from tip to surface.
The 09 is size of the hole in the tip.
if you use a sixe smaller then 09 then not enuff water per min can get out and you'll overwork your unloader. That volume of water need's a place to get out.
