I have 2 AR pumps that are inop. One has water in the oil, the other doesnt have water but doesnt work properly told they are both just worn out. Neither have been disassembled. They are connected to honda engines 11 and 13 hp. The pumps are RKV 4G32 and 4G35. My objective on purchasing these broken pressure washers is just to learn how to rebuild the pumps. I figure if I can rebuild these pumps I can rebuild a general or a Cat just as easy.
I know these AR pumps are not the greatest but they are not the worst either. (from lots of reading on this site and others) I see a model EZ4040 on ebay but will probably need to have worn parts replaced soon as well.
I dont want to make a not smart move trying to rebuild these AR and end up spending more then they are worth to have. When I get through fiddling with these I will probably sell them back to the friend I bought them from since he does pressure washing as a business or craiglist if he doesnt want them. He said they last about two years when they are new.
If you can recommend a parts supplier and tell me if the kits on the pdf are sufficent for a rebuild (like is kit 1857 probably complete if the pump seals are just worn and it has no cracks etc)
If it smarter to just toss these pumps and find a couple of generals I will do that. I will still do some surgery just to confirm what makes them tick.
Since I dont have a business I dont have a signature to put into place. I am a computer guy by trade and as a hobby rebuild boats or whever broken ends up in the driveway. I hope to start a business fixing something but have not identified what that something is yet so I fix things I have not worked with. Thanks for any input!
