I encountered something new today that has me puzzled. I replaced my BE swivel this week with a new one after the original finally broke after exactly 4 years of use. It ran great this morning as I started cleaning 20,000+ s.f. of sidewalks for a school. After 3 hours of work, I added a second 100 foot of hose. When doing this, I decided to install some brand new nozzles (15025's) instead of the 15030's that I had been using. I have a couple 5.6 gpm @ 3,500 units. By doing this the psi at the surface cleaner (after 200 ft of hose) bumped up from 3,000 psi to 3,250 and gave me a little extra kick while working further from my trailer. Shortly after installing the 15025's, the swivel started to squeal and the surface cleaner vibrated a little more. I would shut off the ball valve then turn back on, then after a few more minutes the squeal and extra vibration would come back. With this being a brand new swivel today I didn't think it needed greasing. I added a squirt of grease to it and no change. Every 10 minutes or so, the squeal and vibration would come back over the next 4 hours of use.
I don't usually run the 15025's (almost always use 15030's) but this is dirty concrete that needs a little more psi to clean good and fast. I am trying to get all this concrete plus a school administration building done this weekend and I am working by myself on this project. Anyone run into this issue before? Thanks!
