Bid help

Just received a request for a bid on:

4 flatbed trucks w/ fold down cranes
2 48ft tractor trailer flatbeds w/ cranes
3 45ft tractor trailer w/ cranes

This company wants a bid for once a week, twice a month, and once a month. Can anyone give advice for bidding this or any advice on washing. The owner just had all equipment refinished and repainted, I dont think a turbo nozzel will work but they use them on job sites so their pretty dirty.

Thanks:D

4 flats once a week > 50.00each
2 48 ' flats once a week> 60.00each
3 45' trailer's once a week > 65.00 each

add 10.00 twice a month or 20.00 for once a month.

Tom is there away you can post a picture, its hard to help without knowing what the cranes look like.

Tom I'd like to see a picture to, but Dan's numbers look pretty good.

You gonna be working in the dirt or on a pad?

I wish that I could get that kind of money. It all depends on your market. They really should not take long, I washed 4 large cranes, 14 medium duty cranes, 3 semis and a partrdge in a pear tree on Saturday, It took me about 2.5 hours. Just a thought.

Bout time the fleet section got some action.

Yesterdays work: 11 45' trailers, 35 27' Trailers (inside/out), 25 small tractors, 11 10 Wheelers, 22 pickups & vans, 6 dollys, 8 15' special events trailers, 23 8x8 frozen food bins (inside/out), and maybe 15 to 20 miscellaneous units. Was a perfect day to wash, about 75 degrees, no wind and I didn't have to move a single truck for a change. Took 3 guys on 2 machines 4.5 hours for this normal Sunday's work.

Now if you bring up all those thursday night cars you wash (I forget the number) I'm gonna laugh.

Wait until squirt lays his pencile on this one booyaa.

I washed 10 fingers,10 toes,2 arms,2 legs,1 body,1 head,2 ears,6 pr. pants,6 shirts,10 sockets,4 pr. longdraws,4 plates,6 cups,3 bowls and sommore stuff in just a little while.

hey bro you sure those cranes wasn't just big ones,I didn't think ya had enough hose to reach to the top of those LARGE ones, unless of course ya done went bought one of those exten'wands.

Maybe your prices wouldn't be sp low ifen it wasn't for going next door a telling everybody on the block now to do it and how easy it is to make a living at low prices.Three newbees' how started here and guess what 20 dallors cheaper ME.Looks like another one of those years for the powerwashers to come out.

Bigboy

LMAOOOOOOOOOO Biggie I figured I'd hear from you on that one!!

I wish I could sit here and tell you everything's the same in that yard I work in, but it's pretty mixed up.

And if you're not workin for a Owner/Operator who's sittin there watchin every move you make, it's all about shortcuts!!

Thanks for the replys. I dont have any pics yet because this was just brought to my attention over the weekend, am going to meet with them this weekend to see what condition they are realy in to know for sure how long this will take.
Dan, thanks for those prices but dont think I can get away with them up here. That adds up to more in one days work than alot make in one week, but maybe I can knock those down some and still not cut myself short. I was thinking of useing R-109, w/dnb1430 degreaser, good or bad?

Thanks again for the replys:D

Play the # game... tell 'em that it would run $515.00 for the set and then give 'em a discount say $150.00 . they will think that they are getting a bargin . which by the way they will be.. so $515.00 - $150.00= $365.00 ..
not sure about chem you are reffering to .. I never used any delco products

do that in about 2 - 3 hours and you just made a payment to the bank....

im done with the #'s
its not what you charge its what you make.
its not in the washing its in the selling.
anyone that asks how much? is going to be selling there stuff this fall.
what it costs one guy to wash, may not cost the next. So all the spiders talk the fly closer to the web.
That bumble dance is a side step.
There is no way to tell anyone what to charge without knowing eveything thats involved.
now i know why its called a WEB SITE.

Yeah Bro,
I was talking large portable cranes. You know the one's taht are usually yellow and lift about 120 tons.

That wasn't all that I did Saturday, just a small sample.

As for a standard week, Last week we did 750 cars, 70 garbage trucks, the cranes, 20 semis of various types, a few beer trucks, and cleaned a 8 bay fuel island for a regular customer. We did it all in basically three days with two guys, and some help from my wife.
I am currently employee deprived.

With all that has been said about prices on vehicles the correct price is the most your market will allow. There are some jobs in this business that you can make the money you need without having to go with the low prices. As long as you and the customer are in agreement with the price you have found the right price for that job. Prices will vary depending on what part of the country you are in. If the quality is there most people realize you get what you pay for.

Squirts Post

Squirts post was a classic.

It should go to the top of the list in the Computer Bulletin Board Hall of Fame. RIGHT NOW!!!!

Hey Dan, what's your e-mail address? I tried sending you an e-mail earlier and it said you didn't accept e-mails through the board.

How about sending me an e-mail at ljg@pressurecleaninc.com so I can ask you a question related to your part of PA? I'm down in Pittsburgh so we're not that far from each other.

Thanks.
