brushed aluminium

Hello fellow washers.
I normally wash horizontal surfaces (concrete ,tarmac etc) I have been asked to clean a brushed aluminium (no vinyl) siding at a mall. Would a sodium hydroxide brightener be safe on a surface like this and a foam cannon to apply it?
If anyone could share recipes to clean this surface I would be grateful.
Thank you in advance
Huey.

You will not want to use a sodium hydroxide based cleaner. It could possibly stain the aluminum. I have a feeling that it is not aluminum, however. I would be willing to guess that it is stainless steel. You can mopre easily use the harsher cleaners onit, but, you will want to make sure that you do not allow the soap to dry on the surface.

Hello Huey,

A sodium hydroxide based product may leave it with a caustic burn!

If they just want it cleaned you may be able to use a mild degreaser/detergent. If it needs to be brighten then an acid based cleaner should be used.

Be sure to test a small area (back of the building) so you will know what will and not work!
