burner problem

i have a wayne 12v burner set up, i was on a job and it was working fine all the sudden it stopped. i have fuel the fuel pump is spinning, i took the diesel line off that goes into the tip and i turned the burner on and squeezed the trigger and no fuel came out from there, should it be comming out at this point, or shouls i be worrying about somethig else? how does the fuel solenoid valve actually work could it be that? please help. thanks!!!

Take a look at this link

The fuel solenoid turns the fuel on and off. A magnetic field caused by the coil (when voltage is going thru it) pulls a tiny diaphram in and lets fuel flow. Most of the time something else that controls the solenoid is the problem. Usually the high limit switch, flow switch, pressure switch, thermostat, or vacuum switch. Sometimes it is simply a battery not fully charged.

Hi wiz

im getting white puffy smoke at the start-up [fills the whole chamber, then blows out]
changed fuel filter and charged up the battery.
Still doing it.
I am going to do the service you posted but have one draw back-i have no sense of smell.
Another question the suntech fuel pump is on sale for $36.50 should i just replace it[2 1/2 years old]?
The white smoke did'nt start untill the temp dropped.
Im thinking an airband adj is needed,am i on the right track?

Ron, It might not be a bad idea to use an additive to the fuel, excess moisture could be in the fuel due to the drop in tempatures. The fuel lines also need to be replaced from time to time, they will get weak and collapse and shut the fuel flow off. These things might not solve the problem but should be looked at.
The Wizzard has an excellent post on burner maint. listed in his post. Everyone should take the time to read it.

Delayed ignition is usually caused by too much gap between the electrodes or too much air. Adjust the electrodes and air band as described in the article.

Check the battery and the charging system.
