C-Jet Rinsing Tip

Rapid HotClean

This is something that dawned on me several months back. But I'd bet that some of you X-Jetters had already thought of it.

I removed and ditched the draw hose clip from the pail's barb. That way you can pull the hose off and rinse without carrying the pail around. The M 5 is a wonderful rinsing tool, about 1 second to change from wide fan to long steam.

Be careful your mix leaking on a yard. The few times I x jet I just pull the hose off the barb on the x jet and stick in in the bucket and then rinse. Or just keep a rinse nozzle in my pocket and switch it out w the x jet nozzle.

Spill proof pail. Ball valve on draw hose.

X-jet is a pain

M5 X-Jet

Advantage(s):

1) Full Strength solution no matter how far away you are from the pump. DS = What? 100' before start fading to zero?

2) Using 12.5% SH you can put a mix on as hot as 5.2% (4 GPM). A 20% DS injector = 2.5% max at the pump.

3) Unlike DS, no chems rotting/corroding your hose line, swivels, QCs, O-Rings, gun, lance or nozzle.

4) Instant rinsing, no waiting for line to clear saves time ($). This is also valuable when an emergency rinse is needed.

5) No injectors to screw with. Injector problems = popular topic on these boards.

6) Instant switch from a wide fan spray pattern (nice for watering plants) to long distance stream.

7) Because the mix is with you, no guessing as to how much you have left. Handy for planning your next move.

Disadvantage(s):

1) Carrying the pail around.

What is that silver thing in the yard.

Hal, it's called a ladder. What you do is climb up on it to shoot at 2nd and 3rd story walls that are recessed back from the 1st and/or 2nd story roof lines. For example, in the photo notice the 2nd story wall on the right that's recessed back about 10 feet from the front roof line above the porch?

Sometime you ought to try one, they work great!

You almost got me sold Ted. I don't mind carrying a pail around. I'm getting sick of walking back 200 feet to the truck to pull the injector hose. And waiting 2 minutes for the hose to clear. I'm also keen on the idea of a hotter mix, since I do a lot of driveways. The only thing I am a little worried about is the overspray of a hotter mix, hitting garage doors and the grass and plants. Garage doors around here ,sometimes have severe oxidation on them and I gotta be real careful rinsing down the doors, low, low pressure or you will see stripe and wand marks. I imagine a real hot mix will just cause the oxidation to run. Then I'll have some s'plainin' to do!

For concrete I use Gain Ultra, it sticks like glue.

X-Jet fan spray pattern held down low and let the stream push up towards the garage door or edge of driveway or sidewalk. Haven't had a problem.

What about elemonator? I just started using it. a little bit goes a long way. I was using gain but it was a major pain to rinse on pool cages. I thought it worked great, just rinsing the screens was a nightmare. Gonna have to use gain for the next couple of days because pressure tek is out of elemonator until monday they said. And I have like 5 pool cages to do too!

Hey Ted where did you get your M jet? and where do you get the spill proof containers? Will I be able to use it to clean pool cages and screens? Or is it too high of pressure? It is the M-Jet right? not the X-Jet? I need the best one to clean concrete.

Ralph, agree with the Gain rinsing thing. I use Russ' Snot on houses because it rinses off glass like a dream.

Haven't tried Eliminator, but from what I've read everyone that tried it loves it. That's probably why PT is out of stock. lol

Bought the X-Jet and spill proof pail from Sunbrite.

Get the M5 X-Jet because it has the adjustable nozzle, reg X-Jet doesn't.

X-Jet doesn't have enough pressure to clean concrete. So for that and asphalt I only use it to apply my mix. But for house/building wash I use it for applying and rinsing.

Why do you have to take the injector out to rinse?

I downstream through 200 feet of hose, takes 10 seconds to clear the line.

I use my soap nozzles to rinse pool cages and screens. yeah it's a bit more than ten seconds for me, it just seems like a long time. Especially when I need to rinse off some overspray quickly.

Sorry I meant applying mix not cleaning concrete.
I am mainly interested in applying a hotter mix on concrete. I'd like to use it on pool cages too, but obviously spraying through screens, you can hit everything in sight. I guess I'm just going to buy one and test it out.

When I cleaned pool cages in your area back in the day, i down streamed ,(black tip) then rinsed with green tip. Average size pool deck took about 30 minutes. And I used a 3gpm home depot model...lol oh the memories..the pine needles were the worse one....

Yes the pine needles are awful. I can rinse some of the screens and cages with my rinse nozzle. I am just very weary of screens flapping. You can't see it until it's too late. And I have no idea how they re-screen the ones on the top and I don't want to find out. I am getting a lot faster at it. It takes about an hour for me with moving and tarping stuff. I figured out how to do the really oxidized ones now, with no paint running. I only use a squirt of elemonator too because of sudsing. Any recommendations on a surfactant that won't suds up so much and is easier to rinse. The top of the screens almost always have little white dots where the soap dried because of rinse issues. I can sit there for ten minutes rinsing and I still have suds!

Would I be able to buy an X-jet and just get the adjustable nozzle? Or the M-5 and get the xjet short range nozzle? Are they interchangeable?

I never used soap when I did pool cages,...in a five gallon bucket, i went with 3 gallons of pinch a penny chlorine and 2 gallons water.
