can this be removed?

A new shopping center we are about to start has these marks on the walls around the grocery store anchor... probably from the carts.

I am thinking that they can't be removed because it is from the abrasion of plastic carts on a painted surface - however, I am open to suggestions of chemicals or process to remove them...

I am always open and upfront with my customers with regard to expectations, and if something can't be cleaned - it can't be cleaned!

However, this could lead to a lot more work and would like to remove this if possible.

Thanks for any input

I have seen that 100's of time and dont expect to get it all off. Alot of times it's the employes putting their feet up on the walls while on brake, and shopping carts also. I have downstreamed some degreaser on it and pre scrubbed it in then hit it with hotwater when you get up to it.

It will lighten up but be carefull not to get to close with the heat and remove the paint as well.

Ditto... Been there done that too. The dealerships that I used to do were notorius for that.

On painted surface I normally downstream some degreaser on it and run cold water over it.

... That's how we've been doing it, we've got a pretty big center that is all paint/stain... Long, slow process to get it clean! I'm pretty sure that's how you recommended us to do it in the past ( thanks! )...

Clean it with Purple degreaser then get a peice of the paint that is chipped do a match at lowes or depot and charge a little extra for a roll on paint job.. Sort of white wash the paint on so it will blend

John, I've had good results with degreasers from Envirospec and Lori at PWP... I'm not sure they will go for a paint cover up, but I will bear it in mind should there be questions on the end result - thanks for the input!!
