As you know I made a post a few weeks ago. I really want to get into pw but need so advice. So I come to you to see if you could point me the right way.

Here are some of the questions I have on what I should do. Like I said before I am not working and want to start this asap. First thing I would like to know what a good key word to do a search on for starting out. I need to know where I should start out. I do have some experience in pressure washing but I dont feel I have what I need.So if somebody could tell me the best way to learn what I need to do to get started.

Next thing is do I need inc. at the start? Or can I wait till I make some cash? Sorry if it is a stupid thing to ask but I am a noob.

I was going to go down to Action Pressure on Monday to see if I can get some info and some demos. Like I said before my grandpa was in the biz for a long time so him and Bob went back. Bod and his son also know me. I was always with my grandpa so Bod has known me from when I was like 4 y/o
I hope that will help me get started.

I was talking with my grandpa yesterday and we where talking about roof cleaning. I was talking about some of the stuff people are using on roofs. Next thing I know he said have you seen Apple Roof Cleaning? I said yes. He then told me that you started out when he was in the biz full time. Maybe you know him or something. He comp. was called All Phase Cleaning Inc. I think that is cool to see how long ago that was.

So please give me all the info/input u can on where and how I should go about doing this. Thanks for all the help.
 
If you would read my post I asked what a good key word was to search. I was looking but it comes up with all kinds of stuff.
Also I know some of the biz bud. Just looking for some pointers.
 
Just go to the roof cleaning forum and start reading. Information will fall into place with alot of reading. And there is definitely enough information here to get started. I started in 1996 and didn't have the internet until 2004, so consider yourself lucky to have such a plethora of information at your finger tips. Just start reading and you'll get it.

Thanks for the advice Jeff. I want to do roofs, houses,drives,ect.
I just want to make sure to start off on the right foot.

I made some flyers to pass out also. Just to see if I can get some driveways. But I dont have insurance yet.

You are looking to get into this business now? there are guy's here that are slow who have been doing this for years. If you need advice on driveways i would go and work for someone first and get some knowlege, then get yourself some equipment and yes insurance.


Why dont you just ask your grand pa, if he was in the biz, thats where i would start.
 
Nick, I know how to do drives and other things. I have done some side jobs here and there. I have talked to my grandpa but just want some more input. Things may have change over the years.

Daniel, Thanks for telling me where to look. I have been reading some but have not been on here alot. That is cause I have been looking for work/ something for now. Times suck now.

alright bud. Go get insurance, otherwise you have zero credibility. That's the first place to start. As I said before, search roof cleaning or whatever YOU want to learn.
 
Ok Kevin. Thanks for helping out. Just not use to this forum. The search is not the same as most sites.
 
Number One, you will be in good hands with Bob and Eric at Action.
They HAVE a Pressure Washing School for you.
Bob from Action's Daughter Dawn, and Her Husband Mark, are some of the most experienced people you will find.
They will train you, and answer any pressure wasing questions FAR better hem me.
My niche is roof cleaning, and I would be glad to help you in any way.
Please be aware it is SLOW, perhaps not the best time to start a business.
I do not recall All Phase off hand, but I am glad an old timer remembers me.
Guess that makes me an old timer too :)

Thanks for being a nice guy about it. I understand it is slow but I some income at this time. I use laid off about 2 months ago and still cant find a job. So this is the next step. I have always wanted to take over/start my own pw biz. The only thing that has kept me from doing it before was I had medical ins.
I would like to learn roof cleaning from somebody that know his stuff and what better person then you. I will send you a pm later and talk more in detail.
