Chemical injector not drawing from bucket? What is going on?

Hey guys,

I went out yesterday and picked up a 3-5 gpm downstream chemical injector (2.1) for my 13 HP honda (4GPM).

I hooked it up and filled up a 5 gallon bucket with purple power to wash my box truck, I sat there for roughly 25 minutes using the soap tip and nothing ever starting drawing from the bucket.

What is going on?

New or old DS'er? Make sure it's flowing the right direction. Should be an arrow. Check for draw hose connection and pinholes. Take the draw hose off and using something small in diameter, poke the little check ball to unseat it in case it got stuck.

Installed correctly? There's an arrow that needs to face towards the direction of water flow.
Hose installed tight and not pulling air correct?
How many feet of hose were you running?
What brand injector is it? Is it adjustable?

Its brand new, only had a 100 ft hooked up, it non adjustable GP downstream injector like the one showed in reds video.

I am going to run outside and go down the checklist of things you guys have mentioned.

I will get back to you and let you know, Thanks fellas!

Alrighty guys I feel like an idiot....Had it installed backwards! LOL

I could have sworn when I was installing it I had the arrows facing the right way, but the arrows where very faint and I had 10,000 other things goin on with the new truck rebuild.

So after a few turns of the wrenches she was suckin like a champ lol

My summit reels will be in today so I have another question for ya fellas....

I am putting 400 ft of hose on my high pressure reel...do you suggest I install the injector at the reel or leave it after the pump?

I should mention not all 400 feet will be ran on one machine...to maximize space I went with the larger summit reels to hold hose for both machines, pull out 200...disconnect and hook to second machine, and the second 200 ft will be used for my other machine, when were done reconnect and wrap em up

I am waiting till next week to get back to work.... I have worked 6, sometimes 7 days a week for the past 2 1/2 months...needed a lil breather so I figured Id rebuild the rig, get everything organized and ready for the next rush

I have never used the down streaming method of applying chems, I have always ran my chems through dedicated pumps and had a 200g, 60g, and 30g tank in the truck for each chem I needed but took up so much room.

I am getting a little tired of dragging out 300ft of chem hose plus high pressure hose so I figured Id see what everyone is raving about lol

I will be posting a video some time this week once it is all complete and you can check it out

I appreciate all your guys help! Thanks!

With a 4gpm machine about the max you will be able to draw through is 100 foot. If you run 200 foot just put the injector in the middle. If your running 200 ft of hose consistently you need to get a 8gpm machine at the least.

Doug-
could he drop down to a smaller injector like 1.8 and draw at 200ft?

It was your trucks way of staying away from purple power on its paint lol. There are several injectors that will draw great at 200-400 range just got to find them.

New injector? Assembled backwards (they are uni-directional). Look for the arrow to show flow direction.

Glad it could help somebody.
