clean and re-seal garage floor

how do you figure out what kind of sealer was previously used???

was asked to clean and re-seal and garage floor. the floor in not too bad, except for one good sized transmission fluid stain. ( one year old ) the owner has no clue what kind of sealer was applied to it already.
