Cleaning a shingle roof that has solar panels

I am cleaning a roof tomorrow and the customer informed me today that the house has solar panels. I didn't notice them before. I imagine if they are on a roof they are pretty weatherproof so I was planning on just using my normal single roof mix with 30% SH and 70% water with some gain and rinse the panels and surrounding area throughly afterwards. Should this method be ok?

I agree, keep them wet or I would avoid them as much as possible the mix is aggressive and any exposed wires or leaks could create an issue for you down the road. Not that it would be your fault this would only be an issue if they are already damaged or seals are bad but you don't want to have to deal with that. Be sure to take pictures of anything that you may see that may be an issue.

Roof Snot has rinsing agents ( I think that's the technical term we use) in it that will allow the windows to rinse off pretty much spotless. I have had many a windows with dried mix on them, and I just them off with water and they look great. First time I ever used gain the windows were all streaky, and the film would not rinse off. We had to hand clean every one of them. Never again.

We use Gain everyday and knock on wood haven't had any window streaking. I stress to the guys about keeping the windows damp. I would like to give the Roof Snot a try to see if there are any advantages to using it. Thanks for the info Doug
