Hello Everybody,

I am bidding on a stucco wall that has a tint or dye in it.I will try a test spot- have not done so yet. I was wondering if concrete cleaner would work on it. I know that I do not want to wash the dye off.

Thanks,
Scott

big diffrence between stucco and dryvit when it come's to pressure.
What you need as far as chem might be diffrent also.
What type of soil/dirt are you trying to remove?
How are you getting the chem from bucket to the surface?

Ron p,

This is a commercial building that is partial brick and partial stucco that is colored or dyed a brickred. I do not want the color to run. I have an appointment to clean a test strip tomorrow (Wed.). This buliding is only 1 year old. I will be removing dirt buildup from this time period.

Thanks for the input.

i would try a test with my sodium hydroxide based truck wash if it were carbon deposite type soil's.
I also might try a citric based cleaner like limonlene.
If it were moldy i would use bleach and Dawn dish soap.
If you have a hot water rig, just hot water might do the trick.
Any chem you use you need to give it hang time.
Suds and or a foamer attachment work's well.
I use dawn when i need chem's to stick.
Now if it has special types of stain's or soil's, check out www.prosoco.com for your chem choice's.
When you find the cleaner your looking for on that site go to the MSDS and see the active chem's in it.
K and E has good restoration chem's also[use google.com to find that site.

I would be careful with a Sodium Hydroxide based cleaner (test a couple of areas with the lowest % mix) as it could spot or change the color of the stucco.

Also a watchout is if you have brick under the stucco - is the brick buff colored or contain iron pigments, are the mortar joints colored?

You will need to make sure you work from bottom to top when applying cleaner and work in smaller sections to avoid streaking and drying of chemicals.

Prosoco's Light Duty Restoration or EK Restoration cleaners should work well. The EK Restoration cleaner is near neutral pH. Both are jells to provide good hang time. Easy to roll on. Prosoco also has liquid cleaners and powder mixes that would work well also. Contact your local masonry distributor or Ted (product support tech) at Prosoco (800) 255-4255.
