Cold Weather roof cleaning

it works like this, some people may not like to feel like they "HAVE" to sign up for your board, it looks like a ploy to force them to join so they just wont do it.

If you truely want to help just copy and paste it here for them to read and then add the redirect to your site as well, it gives them options.

If all you do is redirect to your site then you are of no use here, I am not picking a fight just stating fact.

Nice advice Russ, AC is new to the scene. He still may not fully understand why this site works.

We have a pretty good info share. Pwi will post resource to the best ones. This might be AC site.

Your cheating yourself AC because some won't join. But if you are published elsewhere the chances are greater that someone will join your site.

Frankly it's not against the rules, I just think Russ is giving you good advice.

He has been around running the show for awhile.

I signed up as a member and looked around and found some good info. However I could not find the thread about cold weather roof cleaning.

http://www.cleaner2day.com/roof-cleaning-chemicals-and-cold-weather/news-68.htm

I did a google search , Rcia had a thread about it as well.

Now that I have been thinking about the cold weather roof cleaning and house washing, that is back when they only supplied the 10% SH. I only use the 12.5% now, maybe that stuff will work in colder temps?

I have to have them bring in the 12.5% from out of town as they don't stock it here locally.

I will need to give it a try to see if it works in colder temps than the 10% SH.

Your right Ron, let me rephrase the last part of my post, its not that you are no use if you do that AC its just that people come here because they like it here, they also like to have options. I am a former admin here and was the admin for 3 years, also am the fromer admin at the UAMCC site, I can tell you first hand that people do not naturally just go through a sign up procedure in order to read one answer, like I said earlier, give them your answer in the thread and then give the redirect and you will win alot more favor.

The point is that we at PWI want the same as you, we want our threads to be intact and easy to follow, its what make the bbs useful, if redirects are used the bbs user has to navigate to multiple boards and it gets frustrating, in the end you will see more acticvity this way I promise and the threads on both boards will be a productive resource for members and non members as well.

hey Doug, have you spoken to your supplier about the differences in 10% and 12.5%?

Our supplier here says that there are inhibitors added to 10% that prevent it from dropping below 10% so it will last much longer and is much more stable, however when we buy the 12.5% it can be as high as 15 to 16% when its fresh but has to be used within a couple of week or it starts falling offf rapidly

Yes. I have been told that the 10% I buy will not drop. I buy by the case and keep stocked in my barn. Never has a problem w it going bad.

Was also told if I were to buy 12% it degrades to 10% within a week and stays there.

HUMMM thats something to check into, our guys says the 12.5% will basically ruin.

I would like to know which is right? With some scientific proof not just an oponion, Doug if you can get something that would be great, I am going to research that answer for us and see what I come up with and get back to you, I will post what I find.

In cold weather it depends how bad the mold ,mildew is and how thick the layer is. When roofs get into the 30ties and below over night the mold sucks up moisture, condensation, can be frozen, and stays damp most of the day because the mold is on the north side of the house. These factors increase the time and effectiveness of using the normal routine cleaning roofs.

I dont believe the 10% thing.I have been told by the supplier I use that the bleach will last 45 days unopened in the summer, longer in the winter.an open container won't last just a couple of days in summer.

I have gotten bleach from a pool supply house before and it was 3 times the cost of the same material from the industrial supplier.I have seen Clorox with an additive in it to make it thicker. They addvertise it as splashless or splashproof.

Uv and temperature affects SH as does what you mix with it.
