concrete cleaning - lines

I recently purchesed a landa surface cleaner. I have cleaned around seven conrete driveways using 3000 psi at around 180 degrees, and no detergent. The concrete comes clean, but where I overlap on each stretch of cleaning there is a small line. The driveways are clean, but have around a 2" line that is lighter due to overlap for each cleaning pass. Question - How do I prevent this, detergent maybe? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Keith

what you are saying is that where your 2 passes meet the cement is getting hit twice so its cleaner?
are you useing it like a floor buffer or a lawn mower?
in any case i use my downstream injector[adj] and just open it a little and use r109 soap then wand to rinse.

Keith, this is a common problem. I do 2 things to minimize it: I spray the drive down with diluted bleach and I follow the "grain" of the concrete, trying not to overlap too much. It helps to have a floating model or one with 4 castors; its easier to go side-to-side on a driveway.

In response: I have been using the surface cleaner like a lawn mower. I gather that I need to change my technique, and add a little chemical to process.

Thanks for the replies.

Keith,

I overlap to be sure all is covered, I also use temp at 180° so I would recommend slowing down or speeding up to find the right speed and that should cure your problem.

Only time I use chemicals is in truly soiled areas and dumpster pads since they are always full of grease and other gunk.

Sidewalks just hot water, rinsing with 15° and move on.
