Concrete splash on hardi plank siding

Good morning, all.

I have just come from looking at a job in which a homeowner has asked me to remove some concrete splashes from a wall on his hardi plank sided home. I don't think it has been there for very long as he has just finished pouring a porch next to this wall.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Contact the James Hardie, they know whats best. That stuff can be kind of touchy to work with. Is there a lot of splatter or just a few spots?

Turbo nozzle. Then claim the Hardi plank was faulty

Replacing the siding would probally be safer and faster, the guys who messed it up should pay, back charge. If you do get it off your most likely still gonna have to repaint that area

good luck

Ding Ding Ding! Cleaning up after other trades sometimes gets ridiculous. Why should that contractor be allowed to damage someone's property and get away with it. Our industry certainly doesn't get cut any slack there.

It's gonna take the paint off and probably cut into the plank.I would walk away.Unless you like living on the edge.

:yeah: I totally agree!!!

Try washing it off before it dries!!!

If you get stuck in traffic on the way and don't think you're going to make it before it sets, call a local ready mix concrete company and ask. If they're big enough they'll have a chemist who knows how to remove it from just about anything.
We had an old fleet account that had some great tricks.

Thanks for all the info, folks.

I agree with you guys that the the old adage of "an ounce of prevention (the plastic or wiping it off before it dried) would have been worth a pound of cure (asking a contract cleaner to get it off)."

Here's what I did. First of all, I discussed with homeowner the difficulty of removing the splatters and the potential for paint damage. After making sure he understood and confirming the fact that he is planning to repaint the siding this coming summer, the situation proved prime for a bit of experimentation. I ended up using NMD80 mixed and applied per mfr's recommendations. In addition, I used little to no pressure to rinse (soap tip on 3500 psi washer held at about 2' away from siding). Eventually, it removed the splatters. It took several applications and a fair amount of time - not something I would tackle on a "regular" house cleaning contract...if there is such a thing.

Hope this helps and thanks again.

Ryan
