Congratulate Me!

I'm sitting here online, messing about with the BBS world today because I have set today aside as a celebration.

In 2005 on this date, the former Patricia Flahive, an educated, self-reliant, and beautiful woman took a walk with her father.

At the end of that walk I was in wait, worried she might never appear, but she did. And there, in the presence of God and many of the people we love, we plighted our troth. Jumped the broom. Were married.

I have no illusions: I have married well above my station.

In my sometimes tumultuous life, I have always been humbled, grateful, and surprised at the amazing caliber of my many dear friends. Tricia is my best friend, and is orders of magnitude better than I deserve. I can't imagine any aspect of my life without her.

Some of you have met my fair bride, others will one day. I can honestly say that her influence in my life has been the single most civilizing factor in my experience.

Before I met her, I only had one method for problem-solving: ATTACK! It served me well, in its place, but was too often misplaced in the everyday world. Where my motto was once "Better Dead Than Mellow!" I have learned nuance, and empathy, and tact. She has taught me to listen with more than my ears, and to act with compassion.

Three years ago today, Tricia and I made our vows and I have never regretted that for one instant, what's more, I have worked hard to see that she has no regrets of that day.

I love my wife. I love being married, and having a family to cherish.

Jeff says it best: Life is GOOD!

Here is a couple a pics from that day. First T and I dancing to Sinatra, and second is probbly me singing either "Fly Me to the Moon" or some Pogues, or Chieftains. Maybe it was Lorelai or Whisky in the Jar. Hey, I don't know, I was singing, I know that. After all, my glass was full, and I had a fine Irish woman on my arm!

Congratulations! You are both lucky to have found each other.

She's IS Beautiful Mr Millen !
Like what you wrote about "attack" too Scott.
I could learn some lessons in THAT ;)

I have read your website, about the origins of the name Stainless Deal.
You are no stranger to life changing challenges.

I bet she is a GREAT Mother to the little guy too ?
You can see the kindness and patience in her eyes!

Kindness and Patience are two qualities I LACK.
My Grandma had them, and I admired her.

Grandma Alessi NEVER had a bad thing to say about anybody, nor a mean bone in her body.

I LOOK for those qualities in a Woman.

You are one Lucky Man Mr Millen.

God has been KIND to you, and blessed you with a a wonderful life partner and family.

Bet ya cant wait to take the newest Millen out Hunting, huh Dad ?

Best Wishes :)
Chris

Oh, BTW, my girl is IRISH too - Eileen O'Riordan, ya think ??

Remind your beautiful Irish Bride that the VIKINGS who the Irish called " The Norsemen" conquered Ireland ?

Thus, You Son IS Part Viking !!!

Congratulations on three. By the way, how do you deal with her blindness, because judging from the pictures, she surely must be blind. :D

May you have many more happy years. It really does get better and better, at least for me it has, but then, I have only been married 20 years.

Nothing like finding that special person that makes you complete, best wishes to you..

I've met you both and I have NO idea why she married so far beneath her....lol!

Just kiddin', Scotty.....You know I love both you guys!

BTW, were you wearing heels in those pics? :D ;)

Congrats on a wonderful life together!!!

Spoken like a man in love.... Congratulations!:)

I Just Love You Guys!

Thanks go out to all of you, even you funny bastardos(;) ) with the smart comments. LOL

Really, I am again humbled by you folks-the PW world is too good to me. I came here to brag, and you guys are great about it, thanks.

Christopher--Your tragedy brought me to tears the other day, I still get a little choked-up thinking about that kind of loss. It has made me realize again how fragile we are.

Jeff, I owe you more than one in MB, my man. You guys don't know this, so I'll bust him out: Jeff wrote me a PM as soon as I made it public that Tricia was pregnant, he was ready to ship me hand-me-down clothes if we needed them. That's a great guy folks.

Mr. Tucker-- You have a way about you that is truly unique. I know we haven't always seen perfectly eye-to-eye, but I can admire your charm. I mean that, you can make me laugh sometimes even when I see you ranting. You remind me of some great guys I've known, I'm sure we'd get along fine in person. Tricia was touched by all these posts, but was surprised and pleased by yours. BTW, I'm a solid half Norwegian, the Norse just can't resist the Celts I guess! T is all Irish, I'm a bit of a mutt mostly Lithuanian after Norsky, with a little Danish and Dutch thrown in. Joe has every bank of the North Sea pretty well covered in his ancestry, and yes hunting is on the horizon.

Mr. Stone-- You nearly knocked Tricia out of her chair with laughter. She says she isn't totally blind, but that the eyedrops help. (She uses sodium Hypochlorite and Dawn, and it seems to clear her retinas enough to protect her from turning to stone.)
If it keeps getting better as you say, I'm gonna need a plastic surgeon to remove the smile from my face, or I'll never be able to have soup again.

Ron--You are indeed lucky if your wife is as wonderful as Mine, I hope we can all meet one of these days.

Donny--I can't dance in heels, so I dug a hole for Tricia to stand in. You are right though, she could do better. She still giggles at how much of a fanboy I can be, and was, when we were meeting with you and Pete. We need to get working on a white Christmas for you and Julie. Maybe we could trade casas for December?

Thanks everybody for the well-wishes, I just needed to brag on my good fortune. You guys have shown me that I'm more fortunate than I ever guessed. Jeffrey, Mike, Scott Thompsen, Nick, Thomas, and J.C., thanks a ton fellas. You guys are all due a beer or something when (not if) we meet.
