Cool Tool

I am suprised that they are doing it the way that they are, it would be a lot easier if they adapt the technology from the industry that the motor unit comes from for the steering, a lot easier and user friendly and will keep the cost way down.

Nigel, are you going to MB?

If so, I can tell you all about it and some ideas you are thinking about even though you have not said anything here but they are good ideas, some of us think alike, I told Jim about the same idea and would make a lot of his jobs easier too.

That is a good one, house whip. hahahahahahaha

MB looks very, very good and there will be a lot of great speakers there with lots of great info, Each Round Table I have been to have been great but this one might be the best event of the year.

Lou, you talking about the one that drives? Like in the back of the cleaner times recently??

If so, I have been planning on making one for a while now, already have the driver unit for it.

If we are on the same page, remind me while at MB and I will tell you all about it.

Yes......I plan on building one too....I would like to see it up close how they hooked the surface cleaner too it. Theres no way I would pay 12000 for one. I could make one for under 3000.00

The driving part is for parking lot stripers, it is the hydraulic pump motors being driven by a small honda engine with a hydraulic pump. One company that sells them is called Lazy Liner, the other is actually Graco (paint sprayer company....they copied the Lazy Liner).

They go for under $5000 for the driver units. You probably could build your own if you can weld and have a good knowledge of hydraulics.

They connect to the striper units with ball hitches like trucks and trailers, very simple and they work good.

You steer with the handles on the striper machine but you have to have some weight on the striper or surface cleaner those stripers usually weigh about 200+ pounds where the surface cleaner does not have much weight so adding handle bars to the surface cleaner might work but will need some work because the front of the driver unit is supported by the back of the striper (they have the large 13" or larger wheel barrow type tires). The surface cleaner might not be able to support that kind of weight, maybe that is why they put a wheel on the back of that driver to make it level and put zero-turn type handles on the driver.

I am just going to buy a used stand on type lawn mower and replace the deck with a surface cleaner.....I just need to know how to fabricate the thing.......
