The best advertising is your work . the problem is getting an audience to see that work . Cleaning half a roof somewhere it gets alot of traffic works , heres something that works , I just did it this past friday and sold 4 jobs on the spot and have 3 more pending .
I was out putting out door knob hangers in a neighborhood that had a lot of ditry roofs, a middle class neighborhood , homes around $350,000 to $ 450,000 ( which is adverage in this general area of the county ) It was around 3 pm when the school bus came rolling in . At the bus stop there was 15 cars and about 20 parents waiting for their elementary school kids. Mostly soccer moms 1 or 2 fathers sitting on the sides. Right next to the bus stop was a rancher with a filthy white roof , I finished putting out fliers , and knocked on this guys door and gave him a sales pitch and info . He called me a week later and went with the job . So i scheduled the work for Friday at 2 pm . Pleanty of time to set up , set out 3 signs , and start on the roof , I did the back first , the parents started to arrive at 2.45 , I was ready to start the front . I did half the front and climbed down the ladder , i walked to the group of parents and said , Do you want to see some magic , watch the left side of that roof come clean in front of your eyes .They did , I got bomberded with questions. The customer had a shed covered with moss , not part of my bid , but I used it as a quick demo while the group watched , I gave out 20 cards and had a sign up sheet for estimates , i told them when I was done with this job I would look at theirs if they wrote their info in my book. Funny thing was this was the first job of the season , hopefully its the beginning of a trend.
