Creosote on stone chimney

I had a customer call me today and ask if I had anything to remove the black nasty creosote off of the outside of his fireplace apparently from what he says the 4 inches of snow and ice we got here this past weekend covered the flue cap and made the creosote from the burning wood run down the side of his chimney As well as his metal building. What chemical can I use to get this stuff off the chimney and the metal? I told him I would ask around and get back with him first thing in the morning.

Regular house wash mix. Add some butyl based sodium hydroxide in with it. You may have to brush it a little but it will come off. I had one last week and it worked like a charm. :)

You cleaned a chimney? How big of a lift did you have to get to get that high??

I did one a few weeks ago that I had a some leftover roofwash mix and used it. It worked like magic no scrubbing.
