Direct Mail

Has anyone done the direct mailing? If so, how did it work out? Any leads from them? I have been considering some. It's not expensive with the USPS every door delivery. You can target specific areas within a zip code. I started some Radio ads yesterday so not sure how that will work out.

We did some EDDM, not great returns as a percentage, but these are some of the best customers. Larger tickets on average than anything else I've done to advertise to residential. My main advice is to join the PWRA and use their postcards and printing discounts.

Don't believe I've ever heard a PW radio ad in these parts. It'll be interesting to see how you do, which I hope is really good!

I'd advise checking out what others are suing in your area for mailers. Find out what seems to be working and try to implement those features into yours. Mailers are a hit and miss media. What someone tells you is a successful mailer isn't necessarily going to work in your area. So do some local research before you buy in to some group marketing set up. Odds are you'll be more successful getting some ideas from guys on here than with those types.

Not really anybody to check with locally. The power washers in the area are lumped in with grass cutting, tree trimming or whatever else. There is one roof cleaner about 50 miles away so as best I can tell 2 guys have a wide open customer base. Problem here is the concept of roof cleaning is new to a lot of residents. We have a lot of part time residents and tourists. I'm hoping the radio helps with the concept part so it's really about getting my company and services out there.

The big benefit you have then is that your market isn't already saturated with marketing materials. Keep it simple to start with. No reason to over complicate it and confuse the clients. Simple facts like the type of cleaning (roof or house washing) will extend the life of the surface and save them money on repairs or replacement as well as improve the cosmetics of their property.
