Do not buy this unit

I recently went to check out this unit that was on ebay and in my area because it looked like a decent unit, but when I got there and checked it out the people at the store turned on the unit indoors to try and show me the unit ran I immediatly turned it off and told them what just happened by them turning it on with no water source. They then took the unit outside and hooked it up and when the burner ignited it smoked like crazy. I advise anyone not to buy this unit off ebay it may seem like a good deal but they basically slapped make up on a pigs with this unit.

I have got a almost new trailer and skid for sale if you want a 10 gpm machine.....Big enuff that you wont need to buy another one....listed under pressure washing trailer in Houston craigs list in great shape.....Just listed
 
A short run with no water is not going to damage the unit. It has to have long enough for the seals to heat up and melt. The smoking is another issue, and if that has a magneto burner, I would run away from it. Just saying. Otherwise, even for a little work, $1500 is not a horrible price.

Who knows how many times they did the same thing, many short runs add up.
 
Well the problem was that they always run it dry when a customer comes in to look at it(I asked them before I told them the problem with doing that) since they have it indoor on a shelf its hassle to move, so I'm not sure how they have treated this unit. When I tested it out it had really no pressure. It was not the magneto burner. I just wanted to save someone the hassle of thinking they were going to get a good unit and end up finding problems with it like I have in the past.The unit has also been there awhile now so who knows.
