Do they have the right?

Is it just around here or everywhere that paper box stuffers run over your hose? It has happened so many times that at 4 am I make sure my hoses are tight on me and keep eye out for them. Just because they are there for two minutes they want to get as close as they want. One morning I had to run water hose diagonally across a parking lot (had cones up), and some a hole parked on top of my hose beside a cone, to read the newspaper? WTH? an hour left on a 10 hour night turned into 2 and a half.

I have many hose stories, to many to tell. No they should'nt but we are surronded by A-Holes who dont give to shizits about what you are doing !! I had someone park on my hose water line at a Walgreens and I went inside and made him come out and move his car. When he left he blew the horn and gave me the finger, and he cut the line with a knife, real man !!

You think thats bad, when I was an Owner Operator I use to haul gasoline to the stations and of course cone everything off. I had a guy come thru the station one night in a pickup truck trying to beat the light run over my cones and drop line for the fuel as it was gravity dropping into a 10,000 gal tank. He ruptured the hose and caused me a nightmare with DOT and Osha, before I could shut it down it spwed out around 100gal of fuel and you know what gas looks like when you drop a few gallons imagine 100 gal. The entire area had to be closed down because of vapors and or any spark that could ignite the fuel and the truck carrying 10,000 gal !!!! Every gray hair on my head is from delivering fuel up in NY and the stories get worse when the winter came around and black ice !!

No one gives a crap, he could have killed alot of people and all he cared about was saving 2 min to cut thru the station and beat the light. If there is any karma in this world I hope he died a slow painfull death !!

He never stopped he ran everything over and tore ass. My main concern at that instant was to stop the flow and contain the spill as best as i could until help arrived.

You're talking about the newspaper people? Drive over all your hoses and then pull on to the sidewalk so they don't have to walk 10 more feet!? If you see them in time blast a cloud right at their vehicle and don't let up.

Oh I scared the crap out of one lady. She didnt get out of her car. It all boiled over and I was screaming, bright yellow hoses on a black lot.

These guys love to stop right on the hose.

Yeah, try doing that job for awhile, have you ever ran down the interstate with 110,000 pounds of fuel while A-holes are putting on makeup and people cutting you off. Have you driven on Black Ice or thru a snow storm in a loaded semi. I think you need to reconsider your thoughts on who the A-Holes are, this country would stop if it wasn't truckers. The only reason they may be angry, is having to deal with the stress of staying upright while dodging the idiots on the road.

And all those nuts on the road make it real hard to smoke meth while driving. Foil gets all crumpled up and makes a general mess.

:) Just messing with you Nick. I do feel for the truck drivers. I can't even stand driving the car around. I can imagine what it's like for them. And those guys at our account are actually pretty friendly.

I find truck drivers to be very friendly if you show the respect they deserve.

If your a fleet washer your opinions on truckers usually differ from nicks. Truck drivers are the biggest whiners ever, but are the only people in the world who know everything and everything about everything. They could do your corporate taxes for you, consult your investments, brew chemicals and most of all wash a truck better than anyone else.

Their may be a difference in a company driver making no money versus a owner operator, but the crap that all these guys have to deal with on the road is daunting to say the least.

We try to keep our hoses tight to the curb or behind the parking stall concrete bumpers - still had plenty of idiots driving on the hose though.

Guess everyone's experience is different with truck drivers, I've always found them to be decent when driving - when we're on the road at night and are signaling to return to inside lane they usually flash to let us in.
