The yes vote should have been a "no" vote. Wrong selection!!!!!!!!!

Looks like a job was half way done.. And they must have not used a proper pressure washer or chemicals.. I see no caustic stains or burns anywhere..I send crap like this into the Mississippi state fire marshall's office. If I see this in Mississippi...

Do you see caustic stains and burns when you finish a job?

David, I adjusted your vote to reflect what you meant.

In Most cases if the duct work or fan is really bad I will burn the crap out of it with caustic and then wash .. But I always take care to leave the outside of the fan all pretty and shiney... In Most cases though I have enough Pressure and Heat that i can blast off most stuff. But in the odd event that I must scrape .. I always like to use a real HOT mixture of caustic to give it that lasting GLO>>>>

I buy Caustic from Harcross Chemical.. In Pearl Mississippi.. It comes in 25 pound bags.. This stuff is hot .. I think it says 40% concentrated Caustic Bead on the bags.I have to buy 4 bags at a time .. The Caost is $115.00 for 100 lbs.. Each Job I use about 2 pounds.. I mix this stuff strong... Usually when the hood and duct are bad I spray them down real good with a mixture of 2 cups caustic added to 2 gallons of hot water in a pump up sprayer...I soak everything down real good and then go outside and goof off for about 15 minutes.. Then Wash Away ( 3000 psi @ 4gpm ) 200 Degrees Hot ass Water...If I have to repeat this step more than twice I will break out the scrapeing stuff.

JT and I once tried to un stop a drain with this caustic.. We poured about 4 cups down the drain and added hot water the next thing you know there is a big ole stain on the ceiling... We ended up getting the drain unstopped but had to replace 3 ceiling tiles...

Has this thread really been on here since April of 2005? And what about those threads from 2003? Is this the Twilight Zone, is that Rod Serling over there? Didn't he die several years ago? You guys are making me nervous

Doug, I think somebody is bored and bringing these old threads back....

but since I'm here, I'm gonna comment on the thread :D

Maybe the cleaner got hungry in the middle of cleaning and went to get a taco, and the taco shop was robbed and he just never went back. If he left it like that on purpose....uhm..not good, not good at all. By the way, those are my initials, but not my sticker and definetly not my work. His sticker should say Certificate of incompetance, not Certificate of Performance...
