This week next week try to network with someone.

I dont care if its someone outside the BBS or on the bBS.

Just do it an tell use here.

In the past weeks I have thrown a few leads in other states to a few guys here.

How about you, throw some jobs an help another person out.

Me and Russ have been networking for weeks now....We have several things that we are working on together, and some that each of us will need help from the other on. We have been able to develop a great relationship for asssistance when each needs it. One day we were even able to put 3 washers out of commision,,,,but only for a few hrs...LOL

We had dinner last night with a few Texas contractors (Scott D and Celeste, Chris Chappell (Superior), John (PressureWashE) and Bob with Pressure Tek who flew down to attend Scott D.'s Texas Contractors Luncheon.

We finally got a chance to meet Scott D. and Celeste. We live in the same city but have never met!
They are great folks and I'm sure we will be working together soon on a few things. As a matter of fact, we have a large job in Galveston this month that they may help us on. :D

Eric talked to Lightning Gene (who lives north of us) the other day and just could not say enough good things about him.

I just want to take a minute to thank not only our fellow Texan PWs but, everyone else that we have met at the RTs for your friendliness and great conversation.
The relationships that you can develop from this industry are as good as gold and we have made many great friends!

I cannot say how important it is to get out there and network with people who you are working alongside.

Alright, alright....enough mushiness...LOL :D

Theres all kinds of neworking and working with local competition. A lot has to do with trust. Networking on these BB's, RT's and just getting to know and help and get help from contractors has helped my business, helped form relationships and friendships. Like the RT's I may learn some, but I also think of it as a fun social event. I just like being around guys and gals that share some of my same interests

Now local I pick and choose and a lot like I said is based on trust. Whether you are local or in another state if I can't trust you I will shy away or just not associate with you.
I have a great network of guys locally and it pays off, helps all of us. It has proven to be a great help to me these past few weeks. I dont like to sub out work. I like to have control of the work. I want to protect the managers and properties I get contracts from and to sub it out I lose to much control. Well I have been buried with jobs and had extra jobs thrown in on top of an impossible schedule. What did I do? I just asked for help and I got the help. Local PW contractors bailed me out. A couple years ago I wouldnt have asked anyone. I had contractors on short notic just say "Jeff what do you need and when do you need me" Thats cool and like I said its bailed me out and has been great that I didnt have to tell a propety "Sorry I cant fit you in". I have other contractors working side by side with my crews, busting hump 10, 12 hours days just to get me ahead. How coopl is that. Now that I have built relationships and friendships I have no problem asking for the help. I give tons of work away, from $150 to $800 dollar house washes up to a $10K - $30K wood jobs. I dont do that kind of work so its great to tell a customer or a person calling, "I dont do that kind of work, but I have a great local company that does". Its great to be able to refer someone to someone you can trust. I have others that will help if I need a part a machine some chem whatever and it helps sometimes not to be in it alone. It all comes to trust. Theres several around here I wouldnt throw them a bone a dog biscuit or anything, Why? I cant trust them! There's others I just dont know

So networking is it good...hell ya. Just be honest and hardworking with those you network with and everyone benefits. I'm ready to go to another RT too....I like the networking at RT's and guess what else...I like to PARTY like a rock star LOL

Networking +1
