So whats the latest debate on door hangers? Im thinking about ordering some that have a selection of services listed that i do on residential and as i walk up the drive way i can price each service and by the time i get to the front door if someone is home i can introduce myself and go over the pricing or just leave it on the door....Door to Door is my best skill when it comes to selling..

has anyone else used door hangers and what was your success rate?

Be careful when cold calling residential areas. Some towns require you to have a solicitors license to knock on the doors of home owners.

It's a great way of getting your Company's name out there, and getting the phone to ring. But don't just hang them and that be it, you have to be "Visible" in order for best results.

Anthony, I would strongly suggest you get a website first. This is the number 1 thing you should start with when you begin a "Marketing Campaign".

I am probably going to have Kieth design me some this year for the guys to go around the nearest 20 houses or so in the neighborhood when we do a job when they are finishing up a house wash or roof wash, but I dont think i would just go putting them out everywhere....

thats exactly what i meant. when in the neighborhood............i usually wait till im done with the house so they can take a peek at it.

yeah and as leave the neighborhood i stop at all the dirty houses.
it just takes a couple on a street down here then u own half the neighborhood especially in these gated communities..

im in the process of getting a website but im also in the process of having a logo designed for me too which for some reason takes forever and cost alot ...... go figure lol

The door hangers I use have a business card on the bottom, so if they don't call you now they have the card for later.

Why Not? That's what they're for. We put out about 500 to 800 a month. Keith did ours and did a Great job, we buy them 5000 at a time, cost about $500.00, Very good ROI, and drives Customers to your website.

I should have prefaced this by saying it wouldnt be good for where i'm at....we dont have alot of close neighborhoods and houses are pretty spread out......we have done the same thing with flyers though......

Check out the blogger blogs. They are easy as heck to use, free, and you can buy a domain name and point it to it. I beleive one the links in my signature goes to one.

We put out a lot of doorhangers when we were starting out. Listen to Guy. He gave me the same good advice about being visible. Last year I put out brochures instead just because I had already had them designed.

Door hangers or brochures. Both can work great.

We haven't used door hangers but after this thread we will look at it for sure. I agree the website is the #1 thing to get going. I don't think a logo should cost that much or take that long to get with all the prefab ones on the web. Plus you can always load a logo up to your website after it's up and optimized.

Good thread.

You'd pull a gun on a poor little ole High School girl or boy??? :idea2:

Door knockers work great for me too. Mine has a list of items, (exterior walls, driveway, curb, pool deck, wood deck, roof, etc) and boxes next to them that I check and then a TOTAL PRICE at bottom. I always (at the least) leave them on the two houses on either side of the one i'm doing and the 3 across the street.

Anybody got a link for this Keith? Would like to check his prices versus mine.

Door hangers work great. I get mine from 123 print http://www.123print.com/Door-Hangers. Very resonable. You can design them your self. I bend them and put them on the mail box flag. They work great. I get a good return on them.
