door hangers?

Hello I am fairly new to the business, i have been doing it part time for about a year, but i havent really advertised at all. I like the idea of door hangers for residential work but i am having trouble with what exactly to put on them without crowding it or not putting enough info on it. can someone please help me or tell me if there is somewhere i can pay to have them look professional. Thanks for any info or ideas.

Heres an idea


Door hangers are very time consuming. Why not try this.


Go to your local newspaper office and buy some plastic sleeves (that they slip over the papers when its raining). Insert a flyer in the sleeve with a small toy (you can buy a bag of small balls, etc for next to nothing).


Now instead of walking up to each door - just throw your flyer at the end of the driveway. With this method, your can reach ten times the amount of homes.

Always keep in your truck - when you see a home toss it out the window.


***Make sure you toss it away from the mail box - the post office will charge you a fee. Where I live, you can not attach anything to the mailbox or place anything within 3 ft.

Be carefull with the TOY/ball. See all the Fastfood places have warning signs about choking hazards and toys/ don't want to get sued.

Maybe a pen with your logo on it?

I have also been harrased by the post office, Around here the post office only has the right to the inside of the mail box around it or on it is ok (or at least they don't care.)
